Hey y'all!

When I first heard about DMT, I was fascinated by the theory that it is responsible for visual dreaming. I am a skeptic and I consider everything a mere hypothesis until I experience it myself. However since my strongest DMT experience I've had loads of peculiar happenings during my pre-sleep time and middle of it.

This has happened twice: When I pay attention to the changes in my psyche when lying in dark after deciding to go to sleep, I calm my mind and concentrate of closed eyelids usually with a blindfold. After X amount of time, I can find myself in a dreamish state of mind, standing in a room facing a throbbing red wall - on this red wall is a geometric symbol, slightly reminding me of OM. Then near the symbol, electricity erupts from within the wall and start to swirve on the wall, making different geometric symbols and reuniting with the main symbol. After this I usually jump from my bed a bit confused, this can happen within 20 minutes of the decisions of going to sleep.

Also sometimes when I'm having vivid and highly eventful dreams I become aware that i'm dreaming, the dreams turn into complex geometry and I wake up into a light-medium DMT trip. Usually my field of vision is filled with a liquid like grid filled with geometric shapes zooming into itself, and strange alien like faces popping in and out of the grid with a menacing grin.

It could be that I've been under stress lately from trying to pursue anthropology as a study, but I think that i've moved from hypothesis and theory into a fact. Sound similiar to anyone

The first few days after taking DMT I had very strong effects to do with sleep. Usually I dont really care to remember my dreams, but since then I've had several lucid dreaming episodes, also strange things happening while trying to fall asleep/awakening. For example, one time I was in the twilight zone and my mind was screaming, I felt like i was falling through black space, another time I was waking up and I knew there were entities all around me and I was shooing them away. Tonight I had a dream that turned lucid, I was going out of the house and I could control where i went and then I thought to myself this isn't enough proof, now I want to dream about having amazing sex, which I did!

Incidentally I watched waking life for the first time last night, I'm happy I didn't see it before because it makes so much more sense to me now than it would have before I'd taken dmt I think.

Well, I am still quit a rookie in the magic world of DMT, but I do have some expirience with lucid dreaming and Astral Projection. And in my point of view, the DMT-tripping and lucid dreaming have much things in common.

For instance, when I am going into the hyperspace/getting a breakthrough, it feels pretty much as if my Astral body is leaving my fysical body. I can clearly sense how my perception turns from my real eyes, ears, nose etc. to my astral senses. At some point I can hear my own body lying on the bed/sitting in a chair as if it was somebody else's body.

And the great thing is that with DMT it happens right away! In normal life, it took me many months of practice to be able to (occasionally) astral project myself from my bed. With DMT it feels as if I would need to put some conscious effort to not go to another realms.

So, yeah, I tend to agree with the theory that DMT allows for a quick, dream-like consciousness-swith. And in such an altered state of consciousness, one could travel to all other dimensions etc :)

P.S. I am pretty sure that such (or similar) consciousness-switch is what shamans in the whole world are calling 'connecting to the spirit world'. I think that somebody who calls himself a shaman, is capable to switch to an altered state of consciousness at will, instantly. Without needing to take drugs or going to sleep.

Thanks for the sharing similiar experiences! This question is in no way related to the topic, but does anyone think that they experience acid differently post-breakthough/strong effects? I know cannabis has a few distinct new effects on me, but still haven't dared to find out with my ex-lover.
