smoked dmt

whenever i smoke dmt i start wheezing. i didn't have this happen before. I took a week long break to see if that would help and i just had one of the worst attacks yet. I know it's pure, and my friend doesn't wheeze, what the hell is going on, can I no longer smoke dmt?


Very sad if so, man I don't wanna give this up.

Other members have experienced strange throat and chest sensations while smoking (myself included): cleaning the spice generally seems to help this problem. It could be that perhaps you are more sensitive than your friend.

The only time I had negative symptoms was with a batch that was slightly contaminated with sodium carbonate (I watched it happen and couldn't stop it... duh), and the contamination was NOT evenly distributed. My first two launches were fine, and the third launch must have sparked a bit of herb with a ball of sodium carbonate trapped inside, and it exploded all over the back of my throat. Awful.

Lesson: take absolute care when making the spice. Do not smoke any final product unless it is 111% clean.

If you did not make it... clean it!

And if you can't clean it... hmm... it would be worth making your own! Nexus is here to help with precisely that.

Absolutely NOTHING is worth your health and well-being. In my personal experience, if I ever undervalue the importance of my own health just to blast off, well, I am never well-received.

The rewards of clean spice and extra effort are TOTALLY worth the extra time and care!!

I can assure you it is extremely clean. I made it myself and recrystallized freeze precipitated and waited over a week to smoke this clean batch. Should I try a different pipe? Their is residue on my spice pipe.

I just read your sig though and had a good laugh. I'm EXTREMELY bummed though. I just finished my summer semester about 4 hours ago, and I was waiting for this with such excitement and bam out of nowhere this pure crystal white spice gives me a fit of wheezing.

I am not the resident extraction genius, unfortunately.

Perhaps you could post a very detailed account of every step you took, any other information that might be useful (concerning health, previous experience, any possible factors at all!), and hopefully someone a bit more knowledgeable can offer something more insightful.

How many times have you smoked before? When did the wheezing start happening Was it with this batch? Have you ever had anything happen like this before? Could your pipe possibly be contaminated with anything?

as ive said im gonna wait on a pipe till i smoke again, and my extraction was fairly simple, mix bark roote and water basify it, add naptha extract freeze precipatate pour out naptha and air dry.

ive smoked gosh probably 40 to fifty times i'd say and it happened with the last ten, this batch.. i think either this or the last, but these were different pulls, this was pure white and the other was kinda yellow. and no ive never had anything like this happen before except for the previous times with spice pot doesn't do it and cigarettes dont either (I dont smoke anymore though)

Their must be some other alk playing a role here.

The other day I vaped some jungle that I had separated from fullrange, and it was prety harsh (I was using my GVG). I too had this "open lung" feeling. When id stop inhaling, my lungs would carry on pulling in air.

How clean is the spice? have you tried pharma?

The spice is active for sure, I tripped HARD with it (while not being able to breathe well, which kind of makes it a not to great trip).

Check the Ph level. When wolf first started with dmt he made a batch with to high of a ph and it did a number on his throat and lungs after extended use

how would you check the ph of spice? dissolve in water and then test? I don't have the equipment or time, and I highly doubt that is what was causing it (since i can hit the machine from the same batch fine).


But wait, that doesn't make sense, how would the spice be to high of a ph? Once you convert it into freebase, you can't really basify it anymore can you?

Ah your right it wouldnt be an easy task to check it. But from my experience is if you use to much sodium hydroxide it can contaminate the dmt and make it a very high ph level. But usually this would destroy the dmt, Not always depending on the extent but. I don't think what I suggested is your problem but just something to throw out there

What the hell are you babbling about??? This is all patently untrue. Geez, thank GOD your wolf is not my medicine man.

Not untrue at all, well besides the ph checking part. But for the contamination its very true and have experienced it and know others who have also. And if you do not believe me I will gladly send you pictures of the alkaline burn in the back of wolfs throat from extended contaminated dmt usage

You claim that a high pH would destroy dmt...that's just not true as DMT can survive insanely high pH (or if you think I'm wrong, please present me with a legitimate source so that I may commence ramming my foot into my mouth). I'm sure you burned your spice while smoking it and as a result got some kind of adverse throat reaction from it. I would love to see the "alkaline burn" in the back of your throat. Out of curiosity...how did you handle this supposed alkaline burn? And why did you continue to use your spice if it was giving you "alkaline burn"???

It happened progessivly and he never bothered to check his throat till it was bad. He thought the burning sensation was to be expected from what he read on how harsh dmt is. He delt with the burns by going to the doctor and getting a lot of test ran for further damage. h/o let me upload the photos if you really want to see

Again...w/e your case was, that is not proof or even evidence that high pH destroys dmt...where are you getting this from? I routinely basify my mhrb way beyond a pH of 12 and NEVER wind up with harsh or alkaline spice.

possiblly different tec with other variables such as time and temp. Im not sure like I said im no chemist only speaking from experience
