Smoking salts

Can any DMT salts be smoked or would it have to be in freebase form? I only as because I know that some salts of other drugs can be smoked and I am assuming that a salt would be easier to store and work with than freebase.I know it sounds like a noobie question any information would be greatly appreciated.

DMT fumarate is pretty common, and is much more stable than the freebase.

Apparently some people have success with smoking acetates but they are not more manageable, its a goo, so personally I dont see advantage in it. I've also read of complains about harsh vapour.

The main stable solid dmt salt form I know of is fumarate, but I think its not smokable (could high bp be the reason? mp is 152c).... In solid form, there is also DMT picrate, but picric acid is not something most people should be playing with. DMT picrate melting point is even higher, 167c, according to shulgin. Anyways I wouldnt risk smoking a picric salt ...

You have any solid evidence for that? I have heard numerous rumours but I've yet to see some hard data on the issue.

dmt freebase isn't unstable, it just has a low melting point.
one can store dmt indefinitely without any considerable loss in potency.
i've heard the contrary from a couple of reports, but question the initial extraction

I agree. Do you guys know of any other degradation product of DMT other than n-oxide? I never read about anything else....

I have smoked a year old DMT that was just in drawer in a little paper, and it was darker coloured but perfectly active.

the terminal amine is subject to oxidation, but its certainly quite active.
there's no other form of degradation, afaik. there are no active chiral centers

Before explaining the point, just a note the endlessness and SWIM are on opposing sides of the acetate method.

SWIM is very much for it and has converted his entire stash with acetate tinctures and has never had a single problem or regret.

DMT-acetate is made by adding freebase DMT with acetic acid which is plain 5% white vinegar.

While the DMT acetate even full evaporated and thus without any water is pretty gross to smoke and doesn't form a solid like freebase DMT. Although it does have a great property: When heated to 70-100C DMT acetate becomes DMT freebase.

A acetate tincture can be made either by using DMT extracted naptha and dissolving in a minimal amount of vinegar or much more simply extracting DMT from MHRB with xylene or d-limonene then mixing the solvent with vinegar and then the vinegar separated and concentrated.

The tincture can be used as-is for pharmahuasca or it can be evaporated until it no longer smells of vinegar then scraped up and smoked just like any freebase DMT (a little gooey'er) but can be done on demand while the DMT is safely stored in the tincture. Also dosing is made to a matter or # of drops with a scale seldom needed if even at all.
