This is a story of my stupidity, only being shared in the hopes that no one else has this happen to them.

I was trying to extract from acacia root bark, I had all my boils transferred to another pot, and I was reducing the liquid so I could fit it into a gallon jar. This whole process was going just fine, until I fell asleep for 5 hours...

I woke up to the smell of burning, ran across the living room, into the kitchen, checked the pot, and saw a goopy burnt mess. I immediately added about a quart of water, scraped and stirred the burnt mess, and brought it to a simmer before filtering it all out and discarding the rest of the goop.

The question that comes with, though I'm sure I'll find out for myself in due time:
Does anybody think I destroyed it all?

The only stuff that was actually completely burnt was the bottom of the pan, the stuff on top was just really thick and slimy.

I'm so mad at myself right now. And please know, I completely understand that what I did was both dangerous and irresponsible.

Edit* I'm pretty sure most of the goop was just smaller particles of bark that fell through the strainer the first time around, I wasn't filering too well, because I planned to filter the reduced portion when it was done reducing. I definitely reduced it.

dmt in salt form has a pretty high boiling point (don't ask me numbers, I don't know) - so you could be lucky. Only one way to find out though.

And yeah, this kind of thing is dangerous but I'm sure you didn't do it on purpose.

Thanks Enoon, It was my first three boils that got burnt, I mixed the liquid I added and filtered out of the burnt stuff with my other two boils I had waiting in a jug because my reducing pot was full. Now I'm reducing it down again. I really hope it didn't all burn away. as long as I still get a gram or two I'll be happy.

I'll post the results when they come.

it will work yet it will not be as strong as from a different batch where nothing is burnt ,

i've done the same thing with one of my mhrb extract and it does work , only more is required , i prefer to use it for my pharma sessions rather than freebase

Hahaha. Thanks for that. I feel alot better about the situation now. My mom woke up and yelled at me for a good 10 minutes about how the smell was gonna be in the house forever, that'll be my next task, clearing out that nasty smell.

If it looks really crappy I'm just gonna infuse it all with sage and hope it works, luckily I was working with half a kilo of bark, so if I can't salvage it it wasn't a huge loss.

I almost did that when reducing my boils . It was my first time and I didn't relies the more is reduced the faster it starts to reduce . I was aiming for 800ml and ended up with 420ml from 200g ACRB. Doin did my pulls with it without adding and liquid to it and it ended up being easier and I still got about 4g out of it :thumb_up:
