Does anyone know if this solvent will work? SWS Brand Panel Wipe 3.
SDS attached below.
Thanks a million dudes

Screenshot is kinda useless, going on the cas no, theres a range of different boiling points from 40 -60 all the way up to 100C - 120C.
I can say that I struggled a bit and got low yields using petrol ether 40-60 with a similar cas, but CP grade from a lab supply.
proper sds/mds should have the % of the different constituents.

Hi Pete, just a tip, the lower boiling point pet ether is not as good for pulling out the dmt with the recommended amounts but when the volume is increased it’s going to work like a charm and produces very clean crystalline material. So if you ever need to go back and use it just double the volume and you should have a similar yield.

Thanks. I only wish there wss a more foolproof way to essily identify a suitable solvent. It's tricky as fuck to navigate the SDS of all the various products.
Yes this should be good, if in doubt you can do an evaporation test, but based off the SDS it’s good.

Thanks for feedback. Is there any other information on a sds that might help you determine its suitability or otherwise? I can post the whole SDS if necessary?

Complete makeup, usually as a % of total, but sometimes ppm eg Pb < .0000005 ppm
like this example is kinda useless, 100% panelwipe?
Compo useless.jpg
and boiling point, if its high like greater than 80ºC it might be tricky to get it evap'd or the crystals dont drop out that easily in the freezer.
Most of the panel wipe BP's are above 100ºC which might be a can of worms to get the dmt out of.

Hydrocarbons 7 to 9 is heptane, octane, nonane, this mix will have an “boiling point” well beyond of 100C but that is not an problem, many members have used these medium naphtha mixes successfully. Therefore I think this product will work and will probably evaporate relatively clean since it’s intended use. As long as there is no aromatics in the mix freeze precipitation will be no problem.

Excellent information and it lines up with my own experience. I have used a very similar mixture before with good results but I know very little about the contents of the solvents so I am in need of some guidance. Much appreciated 👏
