Hey guys swim wants to know if you think He should start smoking mj to prepare himself to smoke dmt because what he has read is that the smoke is very harsh on your lungs and many people arnt able to hold in the smoke long enough and start coughing and waste the spice.swim has smoked mj before when he was 12 or so but soon stopped when he asked his friends if they did it and they had no idea what he was talking about so he didn't think it was" normal" and he hasn't touched it since . And maby now that he is older not only will it prepare his lungs for his journey ahead he might like what mj has to offer he doesn't know.... What do you think? Your input would be greatly appreciated thanks!
 
This is just my personal opinion, but... no. At least for me, smoking a lot of anything in a short period of time doesn't do anything more than make my lungs hurt and give me a nasty cough. You then know what to expect from harsh smoke, and how to deal with it, but it doesn't actually make the smoke any less harsh. So... save your lungs for when you really need 'em! (And vape the rest of the time!)
 
Don't start smoking mj to condition your lungs.

Plain salvia divinorum leaf (not an extract) is much more harsh and legal (in more places), though you should read about it beforehand. If you want something that is not mind altering at all, go for parsley leaf.

Your goal should not be to condition your lungs, but to learn how to smoke slowly and calmly to avoid coughing. Conditioning, to me, implies much more unhealthy activity. The last thing you want to do is develop a habit.

Really, the best thing to familiarize your lungs with dmt will be dmt.
 
Everyone had some great advice. I wouldn't smoke mj for the sole purpose of increasing my ability to intake dmt smoke, simply since there is soo much to learn from cannabis itself anyway. I do think smoking cannabis and other herbs did increase my lung capacity by a lot..but you don't really NEED it in order to get the amount of dmt you need.

I still think you should give cannabis a try or two since you haven't done it since you were 12, there is a lot people can learn from this plant by itself :d
 
Biking can really improve lung capacity. I don't think you need to worry about your lung capacity, anyways.


I also agree that you shouldn't start smoking mj, I don't feel it is a very powerful entheogen. It's more therapeutic, and not at all necessary or even desirable a lot of the time. It tends to make me feel worse afterward rather than better.
 
I smoke it once every week or every 2 weeks and it is VERY psychedelic for me, and others that i know. I never smoke it with dmt though, or even on the same day. If I use it with lsd or mushrooms or before dmt i sometimes get anxiety, and the heart rate jumps up too much. Cannabis really is different for everyone. For some it really calms their nerves well, others get paranoid. I think it really has a lot to teach people about their perspective on things, especially if you've never done it. just my $.02 ::: )
 
I found the vapour from the machine to be very easy on the lungs, though I smoked cigarettes at the time (7 days clean and counting). I smoked from the machine, and at times when I'd use MJ, bongs were out of the question, hell even Salvia made me splutter like crazy, but the machine with spice was plain sailing, and holding it in wasn't a problem, I felt the stories of how harsh spice was on the throat and lungs to be rather exagerrated, but of course, everyones different, so I'd suggest perhaps giving 20mg a go to begin with and see how you cope with that before buckling your seatbelt and initiating jettison of the earthly realm :)

Ye, deffinately dont start smoking mj for the sake of smoking spice, the VG smokes really smooth, or make some changa and roll a changa joint with some mullein, its a real smooth smoke, I can hardly evemn feel any smoke in my throat.
 
just watch smoking for the first time after a long period of time can be quite an experience
in its self:d . if your not a regular smoker the two might be be best kept for different times.

or maybe some cannabis to complement a journey afterwards.

i dont know if i would advise taking smoking it up actually she can be a tuff lover to let go of
so she can the ole cannabis.

I myself don't actually find the taste/inhalation/harshness of DMT to be all that unpleasant whatsoever, I have always smoked it in a little bed of a herb/tobacco and it's 100% smooth sailing. I know most people relate it to a sweet-ish/burning plastic that makes you cough a lot, but never know meybe you'll be one of the few like me who don't mind it =)
[though by 'few' I haven't actually spoken to anyone else who doesn't find it somewhat unpleasant- but I assume their out there heh]
 
It really just depends on how you smoke it. I am and always have been a non-smoker. Nothing more than some weed or a cigarette here and there. The first few times i tried to smoke DMT i did it out of "the machine" and i couldnt hold it for more than 5 seconds and i slightly burned my lips, tongue, and throat, completely killing any chance of breaking through. I then got a glass vaporgenie and it was a breeze. The vapor is virtually tasteless and it has never mad me cough. Occasionally the vapor can get a little hot, i have slightly burned the tip of my tongue a couple times, but its not distracting and it doesnt linger for more than 30 min.


I would advise getting a GVG, or something similar. The pipe is expensive, but its one of the most efficient ways to smoke DMT. The GVG will pay for itself by not wasting any DMT, while giving you 95%+ breakthroughs.
