Started my extraction

So as i said in the title , i just started my first extraction using Cybs TEK.
I didn't have a really good start : after i put the hot acidic solution in the bottle with mhrb , some of the mhrb remained on the bottom of the bottle and i tried to shake the bottle but some of the solution dropped on my hand ( and it burned a little ) .
Now i wait ~ 2 hours to let it soak in a hot bath.
Hopefully i will do the rest by the book and don't mess it up.
Wish me luck guys ( and any suggestions are well appreciated ).

Yeah I got that too my first time around. I find it's better to put the acid solution in the vessel first, then add the MHRB powder and give it a shake. That way the MHRB won't clump up and stick to the bottom. Good luck! :thumb_up:

Forgot to ask , the bottle i am using is an old one and i can't seem to find the lid , is it really necessarily to have a lid on the whole time ?

Not really, I guess.. I imagine it will be a bit difficult to mix/shake with no lid. You really want to get that solvent all around the jar, so you'll have to figure out a way to do that with no lid. Also, if you leave your solvent in the vessel for a long time with no lid on, the solvent will evaporate :surprised but you don't need to soak the solvent for a long time. Just mix it up and let it separate 4 times like the Tek says and then decant.

Ok, messed up again at that shake part @ naphtha ( spilled some but not so much that i should care ).
This is what i deserved because i thought that i could manage to do it without a lid.

As a little update , so i did a few mistakes but it seems everything goes really well.
I had done 3 pulls ( in a few days i will do another 3 ) and even after 2 hours i see white fluffy crystals everywhere in the dish.

Safety first guys! Why are you not wearing chemical resistant gloves?

A lid is a pretty essential part to have with your mixing jar. With no lid you can't leave solvent in to soak cause it will just evaporate and mixing with no lid is unsafe.

If I could make a suggestion get a jug like this with a lid makes it real easy to pull from, I use one. Found mine at a home brewing alcohol supply store came in many sizes.

And that jug is immense , i only did 50 g MHRB this time and i have another 50g.

Whoa now, no need to get hostile. You asked for advice you received it, don't criticize the advice after.

A more economical choice for a jug that size is a Gallon HDPE 2 Sunny D bottle. I have used it many times, only one fail in the plastic and I was being rough with it. A crock pot helps accelerate the release rate. Seems like I had quicker results from the shredded bark as apposed to the powdered, due to emulsion. Remember to freeze precipitate the crystals.

The tubing is PVC, which isn't affected by Naptha. (HDPE tubing is also available.)

Yes, Naptha is a Hydrocarbon and Hydrocarbons over time break down both PVC and HDPE plastics

E: 30 Days of constant exposure causes no damage. Plastic may tolerate for years.

G: Little or no damage after 30 days of constant exposure to the reagent.

F: Some effect after 7 days of constant exposure to the reagent. The effect may be crazing, cracking, loss of strength or discoloration.

N: Not recommended for continuous use. Immediate damage may occur. Depending on the plastic, the effect may be severe crazing, cracking, loss of strength, discoloration deformation, dissolution or permeation loss.

Naphtha is an aromatic hydrocarbon, so please don't use plastic.

I think you understood wrong what i tried to say in my reply to your post , i didn't try to be hostile and sorry if it seemed so.
As an final comment , from those 3 pulls i got 890 mg of almost white DMT , no goo no nothing.
Thank you guys for helping me with this first attempt and , really , i am so happy that everything went well ( maybe i will try to write an reply with my experience and how good this DMT gonna be )

naphtha is an aliphatic, not an aromatic.

xylene/toluene/limonene are aromatics.
