STB : Saturating water with salt

Someone on another board came with this idea, and since nobody is skilled enought to answer i come to you guys.

When performing a STB lazyman-style. Can salt bu used to saturating the basic solution to help the dmt to migrate in naphta ?

Is this non-sense ? please enlight me.
