Uranium-235, just like Plutonium, is used in fission bombs as the main fissile.

Fusion bombs need lithium deuteride or cryogenic deuterium for the secondary stage. U-235 and Plutonium are used for the primary stage but that's a fission part. U-238 is used in nuclear weapon designs as well but only for the tamper parts since it's a great radiation shield (about 5 times better as lead). U-238 emits only alpha radiation for which a piece of paper is enough to stop it.

So far the nuclear lessons, once my biggest hobby was nuclear weapons :surprised.
