successful enhanced Poor Man's Tek

Molecules were successfully extracted from MHRB (Mexican) using an enhanced version of the Poor Man's Tek (by Spiceman 8/26/2008 ). The yield looks decent. There are many yellowish jewels radiating mandelbrot-like from many islands of butterscotch colored chunks and after a week of drying, still a few drops of very sticky oil. The earthling that sampled 50mg with a GVG was verrryyy happy with the results. It was not vaped fast enough for a breakthrough, but the carnival was very entertaining and the puffy world seemed to have some staying power. A mullein and spice sandwich in a bong hit is being considered for the next event or possibly some attempt to seperate crystals from rocks and goo for another GVG attempt. This was not purely The Molecule, this included something wild, something from the jungle. There probably won't be further purification, It wants to be this way.

Agents used were white wine vinegar, Arm and Hammer Washing Soda from an Ace Hardware, Safeway Brand (sorry) 100% pure canola oil, 99% Isopropyl Alcohol from Safeway (also available at Rite-Aid), and a heating regimen which will be described in a future posting after the product is scraped from the pyrex casserole dish and weighed. The earthling is verrryy pleased.

The process yielded about 1.5 grams of material from 100 grams of powdered MHRB. An earthling will test some more tomorrow or the next day and the extraction method will be described at a later point in space-time.

This time the crystalline materialwas seperated from the brown pebbles and wax and 50mg vaped in a GVG in 3 hits for a very nice +4 (Ott's 5 point scale).

As promised here are the modifications to Spiceman's Poor Man's Tek.

Only 99% IPA was used.

The MHRB/Sodium Carbonate/Canola Oil mix was heated in a stainless steel frying pan for at least 1.5 hours, stirring frequently.

Instead of the roughly 10:1 water/vinegar ratio, used about a 6:1 ratio.

When the oil is drawn off and mixed with the acidic water the container was put in a bowl of very hot water. (heated on high in a microwave for 2.5 minutes) The mixture is stirred gently for 5 minutes. The container of oil/acidic water removed and the bowl of water heated in the microwave again. Put the container in the bowl of hot water, stir. Do once more for a total of 15 minutes stirring while receiving the indirect heat.

Use a seperatory funnel to seperate the oil and acidic water. The oil is added back to the MHRB/Sodium Carbonate mix. The acidic water is filtered into a container through a coffee filter. the process is repeated 3 times as per Spiceman's Tek.

When the Sodium Carbonate is added to the acidic water this is done with indirect heat also, same way as above, bowl of water heated in microwave, acidic water/sodium carbonate mix stirred regularly for 1/2 hour, reheat the exterior bowl every 10 minutes.

Pour the mix into a rectangular casserole dish to let the water evaporate. The dish was put in a warm place (closed vehicle in the sun) but not with the sunlight directly on it).

Pull 3 times for 1 hour each with the IPA. Again, the container with the IPA and DMT!/Sodium Carbonate is heated indirectly as above. Exterior container heated in microwave every 15 minutes, stir the mix regularly.

Pour the IPA off through a coffee filter into a flat casserole dish. Put in the warm place for evaporation.

This Tek had been attempted without the indirect heating regimen with not very good results. Performed as descibed above, it worked very nicely. It will be tryed again with Naptha instead of IPA.

the enhanced Poor Man's Tek was executed again on 100g Mex. MHRB, this time the cake was split in half (weighed, not eyeballed) and half pulled with 99% IPA, the other half with naptha (some old Jon-E Handwarmer fluid, supposedly 100% naptha). The goods are drying on this planet. An Earthling will be determining the relative yield and potency during the next few days. The IPA pull yielded some beautiful yellowish crystals, nice fractal geometry on the casserole dish. Hopes are high for this run. the naptha pull yielded some white crusty looking mounds (maybe didn't filter out all the sodium carb.?) and some other more clear crystalline spots that look very promising according to the observer. Report to follow in a few days.

The 50mg pulled with 99%IPA yielded 720mg or ~1.4%. Not bad, given the easy to get agents and no petroleum distillates. A pyrolytic assay will be conducted tomorrow with 75mg.

The 75mg vaped with GVG did not satisfy. It was psychoactive with nice eyes closed visuals but far from breakthrough. This material might need more purification.

The 50mg pulled with naptha has been problematic at least partly due to operator error. Yield is still to be determined. Quality of Jon-E handwarmer fluid as a source of naptha is suspect also.

9/05/12 evening
The 50mg pulled with Jon-E H.F. yielded about 250mg but quite a bit was lost due to a bad operation. However, 75mg of this whitish material produces the desired effects in a big way. To be fair, it was heated to vapor on a bed of changa in a water pipe instead of vaped solo or with mullein in GVG, but the hit was almost all the spice, just an ember of changa flared.

If greater care had been taken, yield would easily have been doubled for a 1% yield. Not great but good enough when it is the difference between no Molecule and numerous critical mass events.

The problem of difficult to obtain naptha is present in California. Is it still available in Nevada? Anyone?
