Synthesis Assistance THF -> GBL

I have embarked on SpiceX, still drifting through
I am working on making GBL from THF and would really appreciate some guidance from more knowledgeable members. I've done research before reaching out which I have included links to for reference.
After doing my research it looks like all I have to do is oxidize THF with an aqueous solution of sodium bromate and let it sit overnight. I am not entirely sure that's it (seems like I'm missing something.) Does anyone know more about this and have pointers you could help me out with? Would this not work and/or need to be cleaned or purified somehow?

What needs to all be included for rhe saftey assessment? Im doing this myself regardless, im just trying to get help so i dont accidentally create a toxic poison and accidentally kill myself or others.
 
Hopefully you are aware that bromate is a carcinogen, and THF has a propensity to form highly explosive peroxides.

GBL can be formed much more safely by the fermentation of glutamate.

PS: the safety assessment is something that you write as much for yourself as anyone else.

My concern here is safety. Perhaps PM another member who is versed in chemistry enough to help you figure out some of the steps you need in order to be as safe as possible.
