Hello,

I've been having a few problems with my syringe, the rubber stop seems to get very rigid after a few uses, i tried to cut off the edges and that worked for a while, but now it leaks when extracting my heptane.

Does anyone know a way to prevent the rubber stop from becoming so rigid?

I'm looking for a glass syringe, but they seem to be pretty hard to find, a turkey blaster isn't optimal either i've read, and pouring it off is very messy, doesn't work too well with me.

A separation funnel is also out of question.

A glass syringe, a big one, would be so perfect really, but i can't find one.

Can i ask what you use?

Glass eye droppers are available as part of a set with amber bottles for oil, fragrance, etc. online. Also, the health food stores in my area sell little bottles of liquid herbal extracts like kava kava that have glass droppers, so that may be a local option.

Yes, but aren't they too small?

If i could find one that could hold minimum 20ml i'd go for that, but i haven't seen one either.

I'm being picky i guess, but a glass syringe would be perfect, i can't see an easier way to extract very precisely.

I too am in the same boat with a plastic syringe.
Perhaps a little eye dropper would do the trick to get the last few ml of solvent, after decanting the majority. No way im sucking several hundred ml, 1 ml at a time.

With my limited materials, I plan to use a plastic syringe for the majority and a glass eyedropper for the last bit.

I'd like to know what everyone else does though, and how it works.

Yes, i checked online, and with my pharmacy but with no success.

I'm really interesting as well how others extract the heptane/hexane/naphtha/limonene, or whatever is used for the extraction.
I haven't found a topic about this in particular.

Well, thanks to Adjhart i could find one in my country as well, i added a keyword "luer lock" a specific which helped me to filter out unwanted results.

This has nothing to do with the syringe being made out of glass or not, but it did help.
