The end product was very little?

Hey everyone. I followed the steps from a recipe a friend gave me. He did before and it worked. But after taking out of the freezer only very little crystals were showing. A few spots here and there. Probably enough for 1 or 2 doses. I put the naphtha back into the jar to try again a few days later to see if extracts more. Any tips ?

What was your starting materials? How much of it?

I would recommend searching this forum for extraction teks, there are many and they are solid teks, vetted and confirmed effective. Get a feel for the nuts and bolts of acid/base/pull and use that knowledge to read into the teks and choose one that you feel comfortable with.

This is what I did

Using a 1 quart glass jar that tapers at the top. Lakewood juice jar is good. Fill 2 3rds with distilled water. add a half gram baking soda. Add 100 grams caustic soda (lye) crystals very slowly while stirring. wear gloves mask and goggles or glasses. never add water to crystals. Only add crystal into water SLOWLY. I usually mix in a wide mouth plastic pitcher and then pour that into the glass jar. Then add 100 grams mimosa hostilis root bark powder Mix in by turning closed jar end over end or rolling on the floor. do not shake. Mix for a few minutes. Let sit min 6 hours. Fill jar rest of way with vm and p naptha (hardware store or online) about 6 ounces. Again mix contents gently without shaking. let sit and naptha will slowly separate forming a layer on the top. Mix again slowly and wait till layers separate. Using a turkey baster draw off the top naptha layer and put in a separate jar. Put in freezer overnight. In the morning there should be a layer of white crystals in the bottom of the jar. This crystal layer is usually sitting on top of an oily layer of plant fats. Lay jar on its side and tap gently to get crytals to fall off plant fats to side of jar. Slowly drain off naptha into another jar and put a fan blowing right into the jar to dry it out ( from far). use a knife to gather as much crystal as you can. Dry crystals out on paper or a business card. It usually takes a few tries to get good at the process and figure out the best way to retrieve the finished product. There are many teks on many dmt forums out there. do some research. It sounds complex but its not really and this is the easiest one. If you cant get crystals off the plant fats then redissolve crystals by pouring same naptha (reuses naptha always) and slowly pour dissolved solution into another jar leaving the plant fat layer behind then refreeze and re dry etc.

If you followed those instructions to the letter, using the correct naphtha(*), and if your freezer is cold(**) enough, then most likely your bark is of poor quality.

(*)Your naphtha needs to be light hydrotreated naphtha with <2% aromatics. Higher aromatic content prevents freeze precipitation. Medium or heavy naphtha does extract well, but given its slower rate of evaporation it's advisable to recrystallise, using light naphtha or heptane, in order to avoid contamination in your final product.

(**)For best results, the freezer needs to be -18°C or colder.
