The forum features are too f****** good

I joined here to talk about psychedelics. I am loving the forum features as a bonus

• Decent search
• 'Similar threads' suggestion when you make a new one
• The ability to watch threads and receive email notifications with two checkboxes
• The really easy quoting and reply functionality. Just highlight and click
• Forum and thread pop up overview when you hover over them
• ... etc

it's too damn good. The team who did this put in the work. Kudos to those people.

I do have a few suggestions:

• Add a meta forum, to talk about forum features, unless that is not necessary
• The ability to hide threads during search.

Yup, it's quite cool isn't it XenForo as a platform is really good, and Trav put an enormous amount of work migrating the old forum to this new platform. We're all very grateful.

I'm unsure why you would want this. How does "hiding" threads that come up in your search results help more than just ignoring them and moving on?

Decent search

This is ElasticSearch, Trav set it up more or less recently. Before that, search had historically been one of the weakest aspects of the Nexus. Now I agree it's quite good!

hmmm yes. I was thinking more of a dedicated sub forum just discussing the site features without making site suggestions all the time. Though I feel like it would be too splitting

honestly good advice. If I get bothered, I'll just log off for the day
