Cool thread. Haven’t been here in s minute but just want to share some of the great music on tour in the US this spring and summer!
First off, if you aren’t familiar with these guys, fix that right now for your own benefit. Finland’s finest. This is their first US tour in over half a decade and who knows when they’ll be let back in the country after this. Welcome these people to the states and go buy a ticket…NOWWWWWW! Do it. No really. DO. IT.
I think they are the best band in the freaking world right now. Think Meddle era Pink Floyd thrown in a blender with Radiohead and Mayhem with a good potent mushroom slurry to blend that stuff up real good. Or something, IDK. They’re nuts. Also super cool people.
They kicked off tour last night in Seattle and are working their evil way across the nation as we speak

If a festival this summer is your thing and you like good music lol, this is the one to go to. On the Blackfeet reservation, alcohol free, and benefits suicide prevention. It’s pretty cool.
A place to exercise and to exorcize.
And it welcomes the Earth shattering return of Neurosis aftera 7 year absence with the illustrious Aaron Turner (ISIS, Sumac, Old Man Gloom etc etc etc) on guitar. It’s the thing you didn’t know you needed as badly as you need it.

The Body is a 2 piece- guitar/synth/loops and drums and might be one of the heaviest things on the planet: they supporting each other on tour later this summer:

This is fun. Here's some of the bands at Fire in the Mountains. Gallowbraid put one album out 20 years ago. This will be their first ever US performance. They were a huge influence on Aggaloch's songwriting if you know them. Think looots of apreggios and sick riffs...
Got tickets for Iron Maiden, will be a blast again!

I had a curious encounter the other day, somewhat tangential to this in that I encountered a "member" of the so-called band currently known as Defrage Reload, but previously known as Defrage, California Condor or Illumenium. Apparently they're infamous for their pushy attempts at getting people to take their CDs in exchange for a 'donation', which is exactly what this individual was doing. An equal measure of their infamy is down to their alleged lack of any public performance since 2017. I temporarily took one of their CDs, but took it back on noting how it, er, wasn't to my tastes. To their credit, I did receive a full refund.
I don't know if I should besmirch this thread with an example of their work but, well - here's what led to me immediately returning the merchandise.
All in all, a curious and mildly hilarious cultural phenomenon… I could go into more detail about the conversation had with the CD seller, except not in this thread.
