Hello guys and gals!

I was just keen on starting a thread where we could talk a little bit about ketamine. I am wondering what the nexus thinks about this drug and what kind of experiences you people have had with it. I myself have had some very fascinating and pretty absurd experiences with it - everything from melting with the ground, becoming a bird, having a feeling of telepathy, swimming in a sea of particles to being in outer space between the stars. Friends of mine have turned into raindrops, been sucked down toilet drains and out in the ocean, turned into midgets, messed with by entities, have the bed turn to somekind of vessel for entities wanting to show you their cities and so forth.

So judging by my own and others experiences this is for me an interesting drug with potential for lots of wacky shit. What about you?
 
It is certainly a straaaannge drug, that's for sure. I have never "K-holed" but have had some fascinating effects none the less. Altered time perception, or rather, time ceasing to exist entirely has happened a couple of times, which was even more bizrre as I was pretty much lucid in most other ways. It's also the perfect length of trip, about 45 mins so is managable. We used to snort some after a night out clubbing on mdma, which was just perfect for 6am mischief.

To be honest though, I can't understand people who get really into it. I had a terrible time on it once as well, where I was sick for the whole experience, and had to sit myself in the shower as the only means I had to make me feel less sick. Not my finest hour...
 
Ketamine for me is not a gud drug to be honest.. I used it more than enough... i mostly used as IM, for me IM trip is kinda passing out watching my world shake and having weird feelings and thoughts while there a horrible taste in my throat (like ihave eaten a cardboard box or sumthing):p..... sniffing it as powder gives me different trips at different amounts.. small amount is kinda energetic, middle is more trippy and lighteaded, and to be honest i dont enjoy k-hole at all...

i would enjoy a small line in certain conditions, but its not my choice of drug anymore.
 
Swim took ketamine assuming it was mdma and ended up having a great night which ended in an hour long puking session and then no come down and a great sleep. I thought it was great! I liked the flickering between reality and some other imaginary dimension in which i would have full on conversations with people before realising oops im heavily tripping :D
and the people i was talking to didnt exist lol
 
I do enjoy small amounts of K, but I have managed to over do it a few times and it was pretty shitty. I recently had some vet K that was just too much... even a tiny bump turned me into a stumbling/dribbling mess.

As much as i do like it, K can be very dangerous. I know of a couple people who were snorting unbelievably large amounts of K every day for a few years. Ketamine destroys the bladder if abused and these dudes started getting blood clots in their piss (here's some info on "Ketamine Bladder Syndrome": http://www.ketaminebladdersyndrome.com/KBS/Welcome.html).

I have to agree with 1664, as i also don't understand why people get really into it either. I guess i have a sort of love-hate relationship with it :)

He just left his parents house because they made him choose in between that and K. Odd lad really
 
Swim had a very bad experience with k, his friend told him not too take too much but he didn't listen.

So swim snorted about half the bag and started feeling that drunkenness and being real high.
He could barely walk,swim remembers walking like when Hunter.S.Thompson in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas when he inhaled ether.
it was kinda funny but at one point the buzz started to slowly stop so he snorted the rest of the bag and that's when all hell broke loose.
His body temp rose so high ,he was very lucky that he was near a toilet or he would have died.
At one point he was panicking because he felt death was near but being smart and logical he stopped panicking and decided to puke his guts out.
So he puked,dranked more water,puked again and pissed as much as he could ,and his body temperature slowly got to a normal level,
he was in the toilets for a good 2 hours, this is one of his worst overdoses. He will never touch that stuff again.
 
Im surprised people here like to take small doses of ketamine. When I do get ahold of some ketamine I dont have any desire to take low doses..seems a waste. I want to K hole in sensory deprivation. I want a ketamine trip..not a light ketamine buzz. I hve read soo much amazing stuff about ketamine, but always in full doses and in sensory deprivation. All the talk of it making things shake and whatnot tells me it prob wasnt used in that context.

Also, you guys, you may feel that maybe you feel like you might die or something..with pure ketamine if you arent fully passed out than I dont think you are physcialy in muchdager at all. They use ketamine as an anesthetic in hospitals, and the anesthetic dose from which you black out is larger than a k hole dose.

Ketamine is a neuroprotectant and is actaully quite non-toxic..a very safe substance to use if you dont abuse it.

Also, the street ketamine you guys are getting..how can you be sure its pure?

Habitual use is not good. I met a guy that had an ulcer after a year of daily ketamine use, and had to quit.
 
Right with you, fractal. Everytime SWIM got a hold of powder ketamine, using it felt stupid and like a huge waste. 50ml's IM followed by a booster 25ml's at the peak was SWIM's operating procedure. She received two vials as a birthday gift, and used John Lilly's plateau diagram to set up her system. The first time she ever tried ketamine, she IM'd 100ml's in a single dose and it blew her away, but the hangover was just aweful.

A very solid entheogen, but only used in an effective manner for SWIM. Genesis P-Orridge and Lady Jayne spent 6 months, if I remember correctly, dosing ketamine daily at increments of 25ml's after the initial blast-off of the day. Their experiments got to the point where the first one to wake would stick the other before rising, so they would come into consciousness already on the way. I really wish that the records from this period were more publicly available.

Phil Farber's book, FutureRitual, has a chapter on using ketamine and mind machines together in a ritual framework.
 
i agree with Fractal and ragabr on this-there is a world of difference between small 'recreational' doses taken orally/insufflated and the effect of larger dose particularly when taken IM.IM is definitely the way forward to experience what ketamine has to offer.75mg IM for a light-weight like me (53kg) puts me in the K hole but 45 minutes later Im back in the consensus reality.

Ragabr-It always surprises me how quickly an IM shot kicks in, dontcha agree?:shock:

OMG, the first couple of times I was completely unprepared for it! I think it's in The Scientist where Lilly talks about dosing multiple times during airplane flights, and making it back to his seat from the bathroom. It's probably a personal metabolism issue, but the feeling I get between where the taste hits your mouth and it really setting just doesn't seem like a good place to be, which may have something to do why I'm against low doses. It seems like a dissociative drunk, but I'm sure everyone has a different response.
 
I can see how people might like to be in a K-hole, but it isn't really for me. I have to agree with fractal on that it is a really safe drug to take... unless abused as i stated before.

ahhh, good old ketamine/donky dust.

I like warming up with just a small bump, progresivly getting bigger and bigger, till I fall over the fence into the hole. Really interesting stuff.

Im not sure how safe this combo was but anyway, CK or CK1 was somthing id enjoy doing.
 
IM 100-120cc is the only way i've done it. only a few times as it's just not my style of medicine. wonderful, deep journeys out of my body/world....but lacking something...something soulful.

the minute i found DMT, i never even thought of doing it again....

Ketamine is a total mind fuck. I have noticed tolerance builds fast though, after a few doses psychedelic effects are greatly reduced and it feels more like you are just drunk. These observations are based on insufflation of about 0.5g over 2 days. started off doing tiny ~30-40 mg bumps after a while it was taking 150mg lines to feel the same effects. The only fitting description of ket is that it is weird
 
Thanks for replies. Doesn't seem to be much of a substance to many of you here. I will have to back up fractal enchantment in saying that low doses of ketamine is pretty much a damn waste. K-hole doses of ketamine while lying down in a dark room can faciliate some very weird and fascinating experiences, where I often experience loss of self and perception of who and what I am. It really messes up perception and reality becomes totally backwards with a whole set of different laws than what is usually possible.

I am almost surprised that not more of you have had deep experiences with this substance. Sure, I am more a fan of DMT and psilocybin as well, but you can't really compare them to ketamine. Ketamine is very different. But it doesn't seem to do anything more than give a goddamn fascinating experience that you are surprised you can even return from, so I can understand why people don't value it that much. I don't value it the same way I do DMT and psilocybin, I don't really value it at all, but as a fan of altered states of consciousness ketamine proves to be a very promising candidate in bringing on some totally wacky states of mind - and worthy for exploration for my part.
 
Citta, I was few years back fascinated by ketamine, its effects and combination...
I experimented a lot in various dosages.
Never IM though..

But still k-hole have been weekly thing for a good couple of years.
At first I've been shown energy fields that I could only relate to the sort of luminous eggs from Castaneda's books.
Then I was a lot sent to rollercoster around country, or even to hospital room (I make it clear here it was while breakingthrough, so vision and transpersonnal experiences, not actual incidence)..
This was less enjoyable, but still interesting,
I thought why am I living this hospital ? Maybe it's the subconnection between all K users from which the majority are hospital patient.
There has been a lot of valuable work done with this chemical as well as some healing.

Unfortunately its strong psychological addictive property are a real downer.
Many of my friends at the time had an ulcer or other stomach related trauma.
I didn't have anything like that but had to stop anyway.

I'm still interest by this substance but as you mentionned, there are others alcaloids or terpene that are more prone to do positive work and exploration.
However in the fields of consciousness exploration it is a powerful tool and rather radical teacher.
It's vision are quite alien and it's trick are making a fool out of you.
 
I disagree with low doses being a wasted. I started with higher doses and relative sensory deprivation, and saw some interesting stuff, but for me an interesting part of ketamine is the simple removal from yourself you get at lower doses. It's like I exist in two instances, the one that acts, and the one that sees me act and can analyze objectively. I can think about problems and issues in detachement, without being consumed by them. Another great use was at the end of mdma trips, to ease the comedown, but that's mostly behind me. It is also an awesome primer for nitrous, and for that, one doesn't need to k-hole. Of course, the potential of abuse is not to be underestimated. It is certainly not as great a substance as DMT, but I find it much easier to navigate. It's a good tool and it combines well. I may try a low dosage with some DMT this weekend, if it feels right.
