So I just discovered this is the only place I can post for now. I have learned about DMT about 2 years ago and have done extensive research on this substance. I am 34 years old and have never tried any drugs with exception of weed (few times). I am extremely interested in psychedelics but given the amount of work and industry vertical I am in (capital markets - mergers & acquisitions) I was too scared to experiment since I always need to be analytical and on top of my game (I noticed when I smoke weed my mind is fuzzy for few days afterwards and this is off AAA Sativa - Indica is much worse). After extensive research, I decided to try DMT once - I absolutely do not plan on taking it after I achieve the breakthrough. My main motivation behind trying it is my intense interest in consciousness. As we learn more about the universe / dark matter / black holes etc. we realize we are only capable of seeing a tiny fraction of what is out there. In other words, we can only see and understand matter in our current dimension that is ruled by gravitation, electromagnetism etc. There is some pretty interesting recent physics research out there that comes to conclusion that we are noting but a simulation (this would assume that singularity has already happened and that we are trying to understand our origins through some sort of simulation where we insert our own consciousnesses into it). Anyway, to spare you all my rambling, I am basically trying to answer few fundamental questions on consciousnesses and whether or not the state in this dimension is just a temporary phase with real reality laying in a different dimension where our consciousnesses resides. We are fast approaching answer to this question with recent advances in quantum computing (D-wave recently built 512 qubit quantum computer which is essentially able to reach out to other dimensions and somehow make calculations that for certain problems would never be possible on ordinary computer - this has huge implications for development of AI - which in turn has a potential to pretty quickly lead us to singularity). My theory is that DMT may be a non-technological shortcut to understanding this. For those who are not aware of what singularity is I would recommend reading this:

I have few questions for anyone that has experience with this :)

1) Given that I never tried psychedelics is DMT (regular not 5 meo as I dont think I want to venture there) a smart choice for a first one? Keep in mind I have extremely low ego and am not afraid of ego death or letting go of control. I am trying to avoid trying any lower level psychedelics such as mushrooms or LSD as I am trying to minimize intake of any drugs. I understand most people believe mushrooms and LSD are completely safe and that is probably 100% true but I read conflicting reports on mushrooms (latest research showing that it may permanently alter your personality) and LSD (chromosome damage / flashbacks etc - heavily disputed though).

2) Are there any visuals associated with drinking DMT (taking it orally) or is it more of a spiritual experience with no visuals?

Thank you in advance for any insights!
