Does anybody know whether or not Trileptal will react negatively with ayahuasca? I have a close friend who is very interested in aya, and informed me that he took Trileptal. It's not an SSRI, but could it still have adverse effects? Any help is greatly appreciated 😁

Oxcarbazapine according to Novartis who make it, and the British National Formulary, mention a theoretical risk of interactions with MAOIs leading to a reduced seizure threshold and hence a risk of fits.

Indeed. If its used in epilepsy rather than say trigeminal neuralgia, this risk is more relevant.
