Turnera Diffusa - Damiana herb question...

I recently aquired about 20 grams of dried Damiana and was just wondering on the best method of ingestion, I've used it in smoking blends and have gotten subtle effects, but was wondering if perhaps making a Damiana tea would provide better results. Regardless of any effects I've felt from this herb I must say it tastes and smells rather delicious

SWIM has a bunch of dried Damiana. It is smells and tastes great and goes real well with some good ganja. SWIM usually make a tea out of about 1 1/2 teaspoon's worth of crushed up damiana (makes like 2 cups). About a half an hour later SWIM smokes a 1/2 ganja 1/2 damiana bowl through a bong. It produces a really chill relaxed state. Good right before bed. Its a great smoking blend.

SWIM needs to abstain from ganja for a day and try the tea by itself.

I just made a tea using one heaped teaspoon of Damiana to one cup of hot water, I steeped it for about 2-3 minutes. The taste is great almost fruity sort of. I'm about halfway through the cup and I feel a general feeling of relaxation/wellbeing, and feel a little happier to some extent. I this may be my prefferred method thus far of ingestion, but will try it with some ganja when some is available. Thanks for your tips!

After smoking 2 bowls of purchased, dried leaf, a sense of calm settled over me, along with a body buzz that buzzed like a bee deep inside a flower. This buzz mellowed over the course of 5 minutes into a very tranquil, soft, somewhat heavy sensation that made me lethargic and disinclined to move. When I did move, it felt like the visual and sonic apprehension of that movement was delayed by 1/4–1/2 a second.

Additionally, I drank a milk tea made with damiana. The recipie was this:

• 420ml water
• 180ml milk
• 2.5g damiana
• 4.5g unsweetened cocoa powder (could have used more)
• 1g rose hips
• 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
• 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 teaspoons rock sugar

This amplified the calming effects from smoking the leaf to the point of a heavy, fuzzy drowsiness that led to deep slumber sitting up on the sofa. I was about to retire to the bedroom when my dog asked for a walk – I'd completely missed our nightly walk-time by almost three hours! I was so sedate that I was literally walking with my eyes closed. Now almost 4 hours after partaking, I feel like the effects are wearing off, but I'm still quite groggy.

Edit: I woke up this morning still quite lethargic and with heavy eyelids.

I was recently using this in a plenty vaporizer, I ground and rehydrated it with 58% humidity packs and added klip dagga. Damiana is like a buzz, an uplifting rush that feels like the invigorating whack of a bush. I think technically the plant works more like ginseng or ashwaganda. In mexico it is used as margerita. It also has caffeine. And klip dagga they use as marijuanilla. To tangent, that ones 'leonurine' is a 5-HT3A antagonist, GABA cannabinoid, shown to have anti-cancer effects. That specific seretonin antagonism is useful for mitigating psychedelic nausea. In mexico they love to make alcohol with these plants like damiana as aphrodisiacs, but vaporized and combined these feel more like a pungent tobacco x stoned

Another comparable one for vaporizing is catnip, similar lift and vapour

I remember Damiana as one of the better "subtle" legal highs. If you drink the tea and smoke it simultaneously, it's on the high end of subtle and it's a pleasant high. Back in the day, smoking a Damiana joint after smoking flower all day would bring the high back like a hit or two of flower might. Synergizes nicely with reefer as well.
