UK, Mimosa root bark pieces now a controlled substance

OK, just been informed that my 5Kg of mimosa root bark pieces from Pedro in Brazil, which arrived in January, has been destroyed by customs as it is a controlled substance.
Just to let people in the UK know and also does anyone have any info on this new turn of events, when did root bark pieces become a controlled substance?

Did you receive some form of letter or other, saying it was destroyed?

Mimosa has become near impossible to get in the UK lately, within months all powdered and shredded bark coming in has been cut off almost completely.

It is a huge shame, but as far as I know there is no new laws as of yet, and many are fighting against this illegal seizure.

That makes no sense though, as MH-UK got most of their bark back that customs seized a while ago. You should give customs grief for that, as mimosa is not illegal yet. Only when its in powdered form and recently even shredded might be considered "partially prepared", but if MH-UK go their shredded back, then it is still considered legal by law. If your whole bark pieces were destroyed, they had no right to do so and you should give them hell for it. Why not order from spiritgarden.co.uk and then you won't have to bother with customs.
 
Last week or the week before. DeMenTed and others were receiving their previous orders it in the mail. MH-UK aren't getting back into mimosa though and i don't think they got all the bark back off customs in one go. They got one of 2 boxes i believe. They might have received the other box since, but it would only be to continue sorting out their backlog of orders from after Christmas.

S'all good. Acacia looks extremely promising (besides the NMT).
 
ya mh-uk got their bark fine. i even got an order in the mail from them aswell. and i got an email from them stating customs released most or some of their bark this was last monday/tue i got the email and got some bark(shredded) on friday. i cant remember how many boxes they got, i think it was more than one though.
they re not a controlled substance the current uk legislation currently exempts any whole or live pieces of drug containing plants with the exception of shrooms, cannabis and coca leaf. id phone customs and ask for written proof that the uk law has changed and mhrb is now included as a controlled substance. if they cant provide this you should demand your money or bark back from them.
i also got my mimosa from the usa i ordered coming up to a month ago now and it got here fine a few weeks ago, with a customs charge on the front, the package was clearly labelled mhrb aswell.
last time i asked about the court case which was about 3 maybe 4 weeks ago when i got my bark in, i was told by opaquelens that it will likely be a long lengthy process and wont be sorted for while. but he was thinking of taking customs to court before then but it may cost too much weather or not he does is another question though.
all i can find on the govs website is a change regarding some other drugs made on 25th march.

I received no notification as i had an ongoing complaint with the Post office because they lost track of it when it arrived at the hub. After several, several phone calls over a period of 6 weeks, i faxed customs; as a fax is a legal document in the UK, with a request for information regarding a) have you got it and when is it going to be released and b) if you have released it where is it?. i received a phone call from customs today saying it had been destroyed as a controlled substance, i have asked for this in writing as i said as far as i was aware this is not a controlled substance. the only light side was hearing the customs trying to pronounce the chemical name for DMT:?

i will post the letter when it arrives and maybe someone with a bit more knowledge can suggest a course of action, thank you for all your comments.

As Kermit said i received my mimosa shredded bark from mh-uk last week. I had ordered it in january.

Mh-uk tell me they will have all their backlog cleared within 6 weeks, they delivered on all their orders under 500g and will settle the rest when they get the rest of their mimosa from customs @)

I don't think that sort of legislation will occur here. San Pedro cacti, morning glory seeds, datura, salvia, etc. are still legal for the most part. Even if it does happen, we'll still have acacia. 😉

The problem imho is the total absence of credible debate.
I remember when in my country Salvia was made illegal: no debate, no science, no nothing: just a short media hype (titles like "HALLUCINATION SAGE CRAZE" and the such) and then a debate like: "is it psychoactive? Yes? Ok, illegal."
The psychedelic community definitely needs – real lobbying being quite impossible at the moment – some means of pulling out the need for consideration of scientific evidence in such matters.

everyone should take those customs bastards to the court and get compensations. these f.....s just do what ever they want. today its mimosa tomorrow it will be acacia. it wont stop till all is made illegal. we have to stand up and say NO

I'm willing to try to help but I don't know what to do, democracy is bullshit because the rich and powerful own all the parties so there is no point in voting because you're just voting for the same people whoever you vote for. Which one of the main parties would like to see drug law reforms and would actually do it if they were elected IN ANY COUNTRY ON THE PLANET WITH A DEMOCRACY? None of them? There isn't real democracy anywhere on the planet.

you are right about that there is no democracy. and also you are already doing something to change it by not voting. imagine if all people stoped voting. if all of as say NO to all bad that is happening around as. that would be the end of those rich and powerful. and of our stupid goverments - we dont need them, end of war and suffering. there is anough of everything for all of as. no one would have to suffer and die from hunger or being killed in war. it all can be done just by seing NO.

and then you can go on the street with you GVG :)

Read the drugs section of the UK Green party's manifesto. Then go vote for them! The Greens are pro-plants, they're still hippies even if they are politicos. One Green party MP when asked if he had ever smoked cannabis said "Of course, it's part of our culture".

Also, vote YES for AV in the coming referendum. That'll be the end of the Tories forever and will make the country more democratic because they'll be having to please more than just the <1% of voters who live in contested boroughs and haven't decided who to vote for. Ridiculous how government election promises are directed towards <1% of the electorate, an indecisive chance elite of voters who decide our futures!

Tell everyone who wants a fairer drug policy to vote green, there are so many millions of drug-users that the Greens could be in power if people voted on that single issue alone.
