Q21Q21's tek has been updated:

I am interested in the White DMT tek, as it has now changed I want to ask:

Q21 doesn't mention that the vinegar/MHRB and lime/MHRB mixes have to be heated from the bowl on the bottom(with hot water), so is this step now removed then or can it be done with no adverse effects?
You who have done it, have you used the hot water bath method?

The only adverse effect of heating the lime/vinegar/MHRB I could see is pulling out some plant oils?

Any advice is welcome.
THANKS!

As far as I can see it still says about using a boiling hot water bath (by filling the bottom bowl with boiling water).

I can see it only in the Naphtha section. Where do you see it mentioned?

Oh right sorry, misunderstood you.

As far as I know (in the past few months or so when I've been researching this tek) it only involved a heat bath for the stage when you add the naptha.

From "Non-Polar wash:"

Step 1: Put the top/smaller bowl into the bottom/larger bowl and add enough boiling water to the BOTTOM bowl to match the level of the bark in the top bowl, either that or just until the top bowl floats. This is very simply to warm the naptha indirectly and safely.

The double-bowl step is only needed for the naptha (third) step because boiling water is added directly to keep it warm for the first 2 steps. If the tek is done one step immediately after another then the first pull can be done without double-bowl heating, the residual heat from the boiling water in the acidification step should be enough.

it will eventually cool so for additional pulls the double-bowl step will be needed to warm the naptha.

OK thanks, however you forgot to mention in the tek that the water that is added to lime should be warm/boiling.

Hope you don't mind I take a quote of yours from another board to share it with others.

This is about how long the lime should be let to freebase:

From SWIM's experiments he approximates:
~10-15 minutes for at least 60-70% of the DMT to be freebased.
Within 1 hour 80-90% is freebased
The final 10-20% is freebased within a 24-48 hours.

SWIM's extractions usually last only a day since the work:yield ratio goes down A LOT from there.
Ex:
First pull of 100g might be 650mg @ 20 minutes after basification
2nd pull might be 275mg @ 60-90 minutes after basification
3rd pull might be 200mg @ 18 hours after basification
4th pull might be 135mg @ 36 hours after basification
5th pull might be 105mg @ 48 hours after basification
6th pull might be 75mg @ >48 hours after basification

These are all close to actual numbers from SWIM's experiments.

I have an electric heater in my room, i usually place my glass mixing bowl on the heater throughout the process to keep the mix warm, that works just fine.

I usually let the Naphtha warm up in a beaker aswell before adding it into the mix for the pull.

As i said in the other forum heat isn't necesasary but it helps 😉
