Hello, would it be possible to extract it in slices rather than making it into a powder? Would that make it easier to work with? It works with mimosa pretty well. Just leave it sit for a week, strain, and ad more liquid. It's slow but maybe it will make less gunk? Your opinion is appreciated :)

Fresh or dried? I have a fair amount of non-mucilaginous cactus I grew last summer. My quick and dirty way lately for fresh cactus is to slice kinda thin, bring to a boil, cool, and blend. Then back in the pot for 3 x's. After each x, I strain through an old t-shirt squeezing out the liquid. Then boil it all down.

That will suck out the gunk out for sure though and I guess what I meant is to do an A/B extraction. Need to have as little gunk as possible so maybe if it's not in powder form it would be better.

Freezing and thawing after blending helps to break the cell walls more. It might be overkill though honestly. I don’t always do it.
