Vaping with e-cig juice

I've mixed up a new batch as of this morning and changed it just slightly. This time I did .25ml VG and .75 ml PG, as the vg was a bit thick and I'm wondering if more pg will get bigger clouds from each drag. For flavor I used the same mix as before: 15 drops of Fantasia "Joker."

For the spice I am sticking to 1g.

Will hopefully be dissolved before the end of the day so I can test. I'll be using the Kanger Protank 2.

Will probably report back tomorrow.
 
Can't wait for the results, i've got the protank 2 be good to see how it does, you not thought about using 100% pg
 
100% pg will be my next mix. Don't really have a good reason for why I have always used vg blends other than that's what I've read to do elsewhere.
 
VG is less harsh/softer
VG requires more flavoring
VG makes bigger clouds

and I think DMT is easily soluble in PG, not so in VG, but only a little PG in the mix should do the job
 
Alright after about an hour of puffing (maybe 20-30 5-7 second drags) here's what I have to report: Mixed results.

Having trouble because of extra variables: I ate way too much and have been treating my body like shit. I also need to be sober for this to work, or if stoned, at a state of comfort but not affected--like you could probably drive safely, even though you wouldn't because of cops and just because.

Okay. So nothing shattering. Taste is kind of weird. Maybe a bit burned? May need a new coil? Will test a new setup tomorrow and I'm curious if that gives me results like I was getting before.

How much of this has been placebo and how much has been science?

But yeah. Mixture definitely still works. I reach a point at about three full drags where I'm in a pretty heavy daze, but it almost... I don't know. I need to not be so uncomfortable from diet.

So yes. It works, but I'm somewhat curious if I'm burning out the workings of my tank? I may take this setup apart tomorrow and examine.

I find myself introspective and dazed for 3-5 minutes. Very light effects. Trying to get them heavier, but they aren't coming on. Slight colidaskop visuals both open and closed eye. Slight ringing of ear.

Very nice experience listening to my Pandora "meditation" station and I definitely want to do this more often--tripping and sober.

I found myself very capable of examining my life and was very calm most of the time.

Next step: start w new tank and new Joker mix tomorrow. Fully charge battery. Be not totally mucked up, and go upstairs for a session. You should be coherent within 10-15 minutes after first puff.
 
[firstly, I'm sorry that I'm flooding this thread; I wish we had more psychonauts out there puffing on pens, but we don't, so forgive my post after post]

Anyways, my theory has been confirmed--last night i was puffing mad on the pen to get threshold effects. Tonight I take my first three puffs on the new tank w new mixture and I'm in a very weird place. THIS is why I was posting earlier that 5-6 puffs might be blastoff.

So now the question is why the other tank has burned out. Cheap build? Spice in Ecig juice has a shelf life? The first half of the tank burns more dee? The new tank is just "better"?

The new tank is a Kanger pro 2.

First puff wasn't anything special, but second and third had me grateful that I was treading softly.

Mum curious of y'all's thoughts. I'll be taking the old tank apart to see if that provides any information.
 
Your not flooding the thread mate we need all the info we can get, im glad the kanger is working because thats the tank i've got but the mini version so at least I no that it works, just need to get me some pg/vg juice and I'll be ready to go
 
Breakthrough with e-cig can be done. This i-taste 134 unit vapes ten seconds max a time, but that's enough. Three rapid drags I was out. The trick is to inhale slowly during the ten seconds, and continue inhale(fast!) as deep as you can right after that. It won't take more than two or three sec then I exhale no visible smoke at all. Keep doing it again and again. And all these processes must be executed as fast as possible. This time I saw two LEGO people!

I checked the setting, it was 12.0w. I guess 12.5w would be about the same. That's 511.4mg DMT in 2.9995g mint e-juice with zero nicotine. It's not about holding breath for how long but absorbing the vapor instantly.

The funny thing is that this 0-nicotine DMT e-juice is actually less stingy than the 18mg-nicotine one. I can't even inhale the latter for ten seconds!

Very good results; they are in line with the first few puffs I've taken off of the units I'm presently working with.

You're not finished though, and I have to give you a homework assignment--puff that sucker dry! What I found with my last tank was that when I took the first say 10 drags off it (absolutely not all in one sitting!) it was dangerously strong and led me to believe that a breakthrough might be possible with this setup. Then I went off in the woods with it and puffed about 1/3 of the tank. It seemed to be diminishing in effects, which I confirmed after trying to puff two nights ago and getting very little effect, even though the tank was still at 1/2 fill.

So just to see if it was ME that was changing and not the tank, I tested a new setup last night--the same setup/mix as before, but with a fresh batch. And the results from that batch knocked my socks off--just like the first hits off of the other tank when it was fresh.

What we need to figure out is this: What's causing it to lose potency? Is it the tank or the juice that's going bad? I'm buying a new tank today and will be taking the juice out of the "bunk tank" and putting it in a new one. My theory is that by doing this, if it's the juice that went bad, the new tank won't knock me backwards. But if the old tank was the problem and the juice is okay, then the juice shouldn't be potent when I put it in the new tank.

So yeah... I have seen the ecig that you've mentioned in your post, but I haven't actually used it. Can you give it 50-100 puffs and report back? I know that's no small task, but it's in the name of SCIENCE!


[EDIT]: Oh, and what kind of a tank are you using? Duel coil?

Do we know the weight of 1ml of ejuice?

Also, what kind of ejuice are you using? PG, VG, and PEG all have sightly different weights, but I haven't found a definitive answer as to how much each weighs... I guess I could just weigh it myself though and figure it out that way.

I'm trying to figure out your recipe in the same form that we've been working with (grams of spice/ml of juice).
 
The e-juice has unknown PG/VG ratio. I choose to weight the e-juice in a bottle on my scale because it's just easier to measure the quantity. I guessed the density would be like 1.2 g/cm^3 so it might be about 2.5ml. The total juice is a bit more than 3ml tho so my guess was not far off. My DMT ratio is much less than yours so I have no idea about your potency losing issue... yet.

My first and only e-cig, the i-taste 134 was on sale and I got mine with accessories(5 bottles of e-juice, two spare 2.1ohm coil/wick, an additional iClear30s dual coil atomizer, a battery with a charger) include shipping for about $120. The amount of juice it can vaporize in any given time is totally limited to its power, which is not extraordinary strong to my knowledge. To inhale very hard during heating is entirely unnecessary. Most DMT e-juice is probably still in my mouth and throat until I inhale lots of fresh air to force it into my lungs immediately. Do you exhale no smoke?

I waste a little more than 1ml DMT e-juice without any breakthrough. That was before I learn the trick. Next time I'm sure I can hit more times if needed.
 
^yes. My smoking technique is pretty much the same as yours. I drag straight to my lungs at first (2-3 seconds) until the back of my throat tingles and I'm about to cough. Then I take the rest of the hit (5-7 seconds total drag time) into my mouth and then suck it all into my lungs with a big gulp of air. I hold it as long as I can 20-40 seconds and then let out the hit. In almost all trials I exhale no visible vapors or almost none; I've actually wondered if I was getting vapors in this whits, so I just pulled into my mouth and let out--it was a nice cloud.

So correct me if I'm wrong--you are using approximately 3ml of ejuice to 1g of spice. So that would be a 1/6 ratio.

So many unknowns... We should set up a conference in Denver, all meet there for the weekend and I bet we would have this thing nailed down in a weekend.

As for me, I'm spending today researching ecig basics so that I understand their function a bit better. Have a friend coming into town tonight who will try the pen and will report back accordingly.
 
Good info lads it's nice for the few that are contributing to this to keep at it once I get the rest of the bits I'll be doing the same, wish I could get to denver but sadly im in the uk
 
It's the coil--the juice is fine. I do notice that the smell and taste of the mixture changes over time and becomes less and less like the starting point.

But I looked up videos on how to take apart and clean a coil, and following those instructions came to find a very nasty wad of goop where the coil should be. I couldn't get a single one of the loops to glow. It was completely toasted. So I transferred the remaining ejuice (About .3ml) into a Kanger mini pro 2. It hits much better, doesn't taste like socks and fish, and even though I tried not to get any of the hit into my lungs, I still got a lil' trippy. So either we load these tanks up as disposable 1/2 ml pieces, we're going to need to figure out how we can keep the coils from clogging at around 50 puffs.

Luckily, this stuff has all turned out to be pretty cheap, so it's not as difficult to experiment with different tanks as I expected it would be.

Ya i had to clean the coil on my drip cup thing because it stopped working well.

I think your finding leads us to the conclusion that tanks are a bad idea, this reinforces my thoughts (and others input, hadoq) that the rebuildable coil systems will be the ticket. Still waiting on mine to arrive. I think its also a better idea to drip rather than tank, because you can control what you get. A single drop with the correct ratio wont be too much if you puff it super hard.

So we find out if its true, then figure out how well it works and adjust the ratio according to what you want.

Example. 1 drop = a dose size. 2 drops = a dose size x 2 ect

My weight to volume is more like 1:5. I measure both and dissolve them in a tiny squeeze bottle before I fuel the tank.

One thing about my technique is that I almost don't hold my breath, perhaps just hold it for like 1~2 sec. The big gulp of air will not only push all the vapor into your lungs but into your blood instantly. Thus I can hit three times in less than 50 sec.
 
The coils are not that dear, it's costs £7.50 for 10 in the uk so after 50 puffs I'll gladly change the coil, that's for the kanger pro tank mini 2 coils

So I can now confirm 100% that the ejuice in my “dead” tank was absolutely potent still. I had a red EVOD tank by Kanger, and its atomizer/coil was absolutely trashed when I took it apart last night (after 50-70 puffs). But then I pored that left over fluid (about ¼ of a ml) into a new Kanger MiniPro II and it worked perfectly this morning.

That said, the fluid was EXTREMELY thick and dark. It was about 5-7 times more thick than the mix was when I started. I don’t know why, but my theory is that the ecig is burning more ejuice than it is DMT… although, now that I think of it, that would make the end of the tank more potent, and it wasn’t, so I guess that I’ve just blown my own theory out of the water.

I do want to know why it was more thick though, and I wonder why the taste gets worse as I got to the bottom of the tank—it tasted a bit fishy…

So I’m thinking this: I may start loading up tanks at a 1/1 mix and only .25 ml. I’m either going to use the Kanger MiniPro II or the Kanger MiniPro III. I believe that the atomizer burns out at about .5ml, but by only loading it to .25ml I’ll have similar effects from the first puff to the last one. Then, after I’ve puffed it empty, I’ll replace the atomizer and reload another .25ml with new fluid.

The coils aren’t too expensive, as mentioned ^above. So this could be a pretty good approach to ecig ROA until we find a better option, like the rebuildable units that were mentioned by Anarchy.

For my next experiments, I've mixed up two different tanks:
1) 1/2 ml of 2:1 liquid (1/4 ml of pg/1/4 ml of vg + 7 drops "Joker" + .25g spice)
2) 1/2 ml of 1:1 liquid ^same base recipe.

Will test one of them in the ProTank II tomorrow if it's dissolved in the morning.

I'm curious to examine the two coils after vaping the 1/2 off of each tank. I'm also curious to explore the effects of the 2:1 juice given what I now know; it'll also be nice if it keeps the coils from going bunk too quickly. I was thinking about it earlier though, and if you had to change the coils after every single session, it might still be worthwhile.
