VG VaporGenie: How to use, where to get, advantages, etc

Migrated topic.
Make the disk smaller, flatter and try to melt your spice into it. Just heath it up a bit and put spice on it. It will nicely melt in. Then place your mesh disk back in and try vape it again.

Thanks smokerx and 3rdI. I Made another filter and worked good.
Another question, is the changa ok with the GVG or should I take out the ceramic filter and use it like a pipe ?

Thanks

ok, so it's about a year since I was last on here or indeed had anything to do with dmt. I previously did one extraction which I was smoking through a lightbulb vaporizer. this is one reason why I didn't get a breakthrough, since stopping smoking weed about 8 years ago i've been a bit of a wuss when it comes to smoking. the other, main reason is that I was in an awful mental state after struggling with 6 years of ketamine and a shorter spell f heroin addiction. I'm very pleased say I feel like a different person now having been clean 6 months so I've got some beautiful white crystals forming in the freezer as I type and have purchased a gvg as a well done me treat. unfortunately I'm kicking myself as I didn't think things through and got a straight one. now it's arrived I'm thinking my gear is just going to sit in a little pile at the bottom of the chamber, with the hot air just blowing over the top, or possibly melting and running beneath the screen. Im sure I will be able to get my new baby smoking somehow but was wondering if anybody else uses the straight gvg and how they manage. (I've bought 2 volcano liquid pads aswell btw)
thanks in advance.

Thanks for for the link it's got some pretty useful info in, I've read through that and others but most of it seems geared to the gvg pipe (which makes sense since it would be any sensible persons choice) think I'll melt my gear onto the volcano pad before I put it in, see how that works.

I have been using my GVG without the top/screen on. It seems to work much better and faster. I just put the flame over the top on the opening, and the pipe is instantly filled up with smoke. Maybe my ceramic top is clogged? I used a butane torch and cleaned it, but it is still working better without the top. The smoke is harsher this way though, but not much more. I wonder what is going on here? Peace.

whats going on is that your not using your GVG in the correct manner:p .

if you take out the filter you may as well use a normal pipe, the whole point of the GVG is the temperature regulation from the ceramic sponge. If the vapour is harsher then your overheating the DMT and burning it. Properly vaped DMT is smoooooooth.

but if it works for you then crack on.

The vapor is definitely NOT clear. Herbal vapor OR DMT vapor.

You hit it right and you will get very visible. white milky clouds of delicious vapor.

Where did you get that all this vapor is totally invisible?

The whole point of the GVG is that you can easily vaporize AND see the volume of vapor that you are inhaling. This is the benefit between the GVG and regular VG series.

Sounds to me like you aren't getting the flame down in there enough. That ceramic filter will turn orange/red with heat really quick if you apply direct heat for even a couple seconds with a torch lighter

Stating the obvious, inhaling smoke or vapor is a function of breath intake and of heat application. I have consistent success with maintaining a constant and steady inhale and varying only the height of the lighter. Closer when warming up the heating element of the gvg and then backing away as it glows and adjusting for vaporization as it occurs. They key is the steady inhale, from deep in the chest. Billowing clouds.

exactly. If you have the top peice on the GVG then i don't see how you would get "SMOKE" rather than "VAPOR" with any type of lighting device. That is the beauty of the GVG. The flame never touches the dmt so its very difficult to burn.

Changa/herbs are a different story and you just need a couple practice hits to figure out the amount of heat needed to keep the herb from burning. But the vapor is still very visible in the pipe, even with herbs.

I have been using my GVG without the top on, it works way faster and harder to me. Maybe mine is clogged even though I used a propane torch to clean the ceramic. The smoke is a bit harsher though, but not too much.

pretty colorz.. but i think a large part of why people choose glass is more for the ability to see the vapor, which you wouldn't be able to do the BVG

so for people with poor vaping technique, glass would be preferable so they could see what they're doing

isn't that what makes it so beautiful?

Yes. While watching the swirling vapor thru the GVG IS awesome,
It is a bit big for my liking. I do prefer the unique shape and construction of the BVG.

OK, I'm glad you admit this, because I have seen my herbs glowing with red embers after I've left the lighter above the ceramic filter for too long. What I inhaled that time was DEFINITELY smoke, because the herbs were black upon examination afterwards.

I listened to what you said about seeing clouds of vapor, so left the lighter in for a while and tried to make sure I didn't burn the herbs......but I still can't really tell the difference between smoke and vapor in this case. They both look the same, and they both have a definite harsh feeling, making it difficult to hold the (cloud of whatever) in for more than 20 seconds without coughing.

Regarding the Spice, it could very well be that the extracted plant material I've used is inactive. Also, a possibility in my case is that the spice goop just turns to liquid instantly, and does not get trapped in my steel wool. I need to carry out some more investigations on this, but it's frustrating because I followed all the advice throughout this thread.

One area of doubt is from the person who said to only make the steel mesh platform 3-5mm thick....I'm beginning to think that maybe that is too thin.
