Im watching this now... thought id share it here...

At one point he even briefly mentions that 5-MeO-DMT more typically gives the 'white light' experience that fits into traditional unitive enlightenment experiences.

Thanks for that link chronic. Gonna definitely make sure to get the book when it comes out. Seemed like Strassman couldn't always understand the questions being asked of him (and not just that he physically couldn't hear them). I would have liked to hear some of his responses if he were to interpret the questions as I did I guess, but other than that, it was nice hearing him speak (minus the studdering :p )

My computer crashed during the Q&A when the girl asked if he thought people should smoke DMT :!:

LOL

I find it encouraging that the guy who administered people with huge doses of DMT feels that they came to no harm at all

He does stutter a fair amount but he must've been quite nervous, he doesn't seem like much of an extrovert

Looking forward to his new book...

Has anyone read 'inner paths to outer space' & feel its worth checking out :?:

Oh yeah. I have no doubt he was nervous. He mentioned at the beginning that it was his first lecture in however long, and was no doubt his first lecture after amassing such an amount of followers (and critics). I also like how he (at least in a minor fashion) addresses the whole pineal discrepancy. Also, it was just yesterday that I was reading someone's post here on the nexus who was talking about shamans saying never to smoke DMT, and I like how he approached that issue by pointing out that the shaman may have his own motives for discouraging inhaled DMT.

I guess I'll have to come right and say I think he's off the mark here. I've also been a student of religion and I think the last questioner hit the nail on the head.

I have a lot of respect for Rick and have spoken to him a few times, but I think he's definitely cherry picking parts of the bible...

Honestly I think the ancient astronaut theories provide a much more likely scenario of events, but I'll easily conceed that those are just theories too.

I personally think the Bible needs to be "cherry picked" as people often get too caught up in the characters and the places and other extraneous details. I think he's more cutting to the heart of things than cherry picking, but it's hard to say cause it's not out yet...

Cheery picking from the Bible has allowed man to justify all manner of evil...and good.

For instance in Psalm 145:9 we read of a God the loves all...

"The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made."

..and the in Nahum 1:2 we see a very different God..

The Lord is a jealous God and avenging, the Lord avenges and He is full of wrath; the Lord takes vengeance on his adversaries and reserves wrath for his enemies.

Yeah the Bible needs to be cherry picked because if it's not it's complete rubish.

He admits that there's no proof or accepted theories for dmt in the pineal gland, and it being released during dreams. It's a cool concept to think about, but there are many chemicals that we know nothing about.
I really, really can't wait until we have more information about brain chemistry and dreams. I think we will find some sort of connection in there. Even if it's just our connection to ourselves and nature. It defiantly seems to improve people's EGO's and (dickholeness?), Lol. Even if Strassman pushes controversial theories, at least he's one of the only people doing research on the subject.

Yeah the Bible needs to be cherry picked because if it's not it's complete rubish.

Not to mention, the bible is a compilation of different books. They were put together by people, not god. There are hundreds of scriptures from back then. Plus, If you watch Zeitgeist or Religulous, you'll see that, if anything, Spirituality is very closely linked through the ages.
😉 I may be off topic, my bad...

Im pretty much convinced that DMT is in our brains, or at least gets there via production in other organs & carried in our bloodstream to our brain.

Im having DMT experiences/flashbacks that are showing me that somehow, someway, DMT like molecules make it to my brain as i fall asleep, at least if i have inhaled DMT on that day

LOOOL yeah im not really buying the whole hebrew references thing at all, just interesting & good its still all being talked about you know...
