Washing spice from q21q21's white tek

SWIM was wondering if anyone felt the need to wash their freeze-precipitated (from naphtha) spice when using q21q21's pure-white tek. Specifically, SWIM was wondering if excess pickling lime in the final product would cause harsh smoke (just as lye would)?

SWIM is rather new to this as well but will say that he has used that tek the last two extractions and has not felt the need to do a wash. His pulls with naphtha were all very clear. SWIM has not noticed a harsh smoke, but the crystals were used in changa mixes if that matters.
