Drug Purity Report #40/26
Welcome to “last week on drugs”, the series by PRO Test that brings you new pieces of the drugs purity puzzle. This week we focus on synthetic cannabinoids and rare, really obscure stimulants. Available lab results originate in Western Europe, but the detected patterns are likely to have a much wider reach.
Data fatigue is real, so here we come to give you the gist of what’s going on out there. For more details, photos, and other information on thousands of drugs, head out straight to the
DrugsPRO app.
Detected CBDA (2.4%); Free CBD (10.1%); CBD (12.2%); CBN (0.4%); Free THC (10.1%); THCA (1.4%); THC (11.3%); MDMB-PINACA; Delta-8-THC. Location: Zürich, Switzerland. Date: 2026-09-30. Source: saferparty.ch.
1. Synthetic cannabinoids are not going anywhere. Semi-synthetics such as delta8-THC and HHC, with relatively similar safety and effect profile to THC, are least of the worries. Strong cannabinoid receptors agonists such as 5F-ADB or MDMB-PINACA are being spotted as well. Despite cannabis being the most popular controlled psychoactive substance, it constitutes a relatively small part of samples tested, but that doesn’t necessarily indicate the problem is small too. Most drug checking projects only accept cannabis samples with serious reported adulteration suspicion, due to high cost of laboratory analysis, and most people who use drugs are unaware they can test their product.
2. A stimulant curiosity: bupropion and diethylpropion, pharmaceuticals and cathinone derivatives, were found in pills and powders missold as mephedrone and MDMA (Bart Simpson pills). Bupropion is normally used as an antidepressant and smoking quitting aid, and diethylpropion is a more stimulating appetite suppressant. Those findings suggests sellers are having only ever increasing problems sourcing 3-MMC and 4-MMC and are scraping the barrel, desperate to sell anything. Another detected cathinone was 4-MEC, a novel psychoactive compound not of medical origin. It’s risk profile is largely unknown, and recreational effect commonly described as less desirable than Mephedrone’s.
Scam of the Week
Samples that were not what they were sold as. Substitutions like these can be picked up with a test kit before anything is taken.
