What are the residues found on the bottom of my collection jars?

Hello folks. Always when collecting my DMT, (after proper hexane evaporation and blowing with a fan), I get left behind a certain residue on my collection jars. Image:
I would want to know what exactly is this residue that gets left behind every time I do an extraction. Should I collect it and is it safe to consume as well? I notice that I get a lot more of it if I evap the solvent without removing the excess. How safe is it to consume? Should I keep it?

Also, is there any way for me to dissolve it in some liquid for later proper DMT crystallization from the liquid? (not really as important as the other question but would be nice to know)

Hard to see from the picture but most probably you have the normal slightly polymerised DMT. Current thinking would be to dissolve it in acidic water and chuck it into the next extraction. Fiddling around with other solvents is only worth it if you like fiddling around with solvents to see how DMT behaves.
