What is life about?

For me...

An experience machine comes into existence within a section of everything. The experience machine is showered with psychic phenomenon from the source.

Guess you've got however many years in this one.

Every one of the "lifes" here seems to be different but with possible similarities that are sometimes deciphered by us. That's another thing - we can't see much of the other experience machines - how much we come to know of them is another part of the variety that exists amongst us.

Life is a term which many can link up to an understanding/piece-of-meaning of that term within individual people. I reckon it just depends what meaning a person may come to link to "life". Many various depths...

What has come to you so far - within your experience - about life?

It seems to me and others that within yourself you can seek things... what do you seek?

But yeah - this place we're in is a very specific place to "be" anyway. Exploring the territory seems like a way to flourish in a life...

According to my burning man astrology - I'm a ninja, not a pirate. Look, I feel for you guys getting annoyed and doubting me for this post, please - just disregard it if you can't think of the proper answer. If I told you what I thought about it, it could ruin it for the person who is to come and reveal the meaning of life. Yes its funny, in a good way, but maybe it will be shocking, who knows. If you must get all technical about the question, I'll be specific to life in general, and not just human life.
 
A "propper answer", in this community, is one which is respectful and is understanding towards other points of view, one which backs itself with arguments that show critical thinking..

There are many examples of propper answers in this thread, which you decided to disregard without explaining yourself, just writting sarcastic words and smilies and now with a cryptic post (what are we supposed to understand, that you know the Messiah which is coming to tell us all about life's meaning and that you, out of everyone here, are the only one that really knows whats that meaning, and are just testing us?) . IMO You are not making your part in establishing good communication, so I hope you reconsider it for the future. The Nexus is no place for preachers and people who act superior and claim to know The Truth.

The answers they have given are great, who am i to say it wasn't brilliant -keep it coming -new people please, I don't want to debate the meaning of life, or about the way I ask the question - because I feel not only am I being respectful, i do have a mind to bring something positive to the nexus with this, and who are you to say otherwise, because that would, ahem, be superiority speaking -proper.
Therefore you will notice I am explaining my self, which is disgusting, but I'm doing it only to get back to the subject of the thread, so please don't bog it down with doubt, insecurity, negativity and argument - that is not the point of life. I don't want to spend time debating this, and hope thats not what you enjoy because thats not good for the Nexus. Its simple
I don't think a messiah is coming, I believe in the black Jeez neez living in Ethiopia, he's already here and he won't be gracing us with his presence to comment on this thread.
Will someone please tell me the meaning of life? Is it really such a big deal to ask? If so I'd like to hear it from someone higher up on the totem pole. Thanks

I agree with Endlessness that your attitude throughout this thread goes against the general attitude of the Nexus.

If you want to be so hell bent on disregarding everyone's advice as dead wrong and doing so in such a dis-respectable manner, I suggest you ask this kind of question on Facebook where that kind of behavior is encouraged.

You have gotten many great responses to this question and just because they aren't the answers you are looking for doesn't make them wrong by any means.

This is a place for mature exchange of information and you have been neither mature or exchanged any information.

If you refuse to contribute anything meaningful to this thread besides coy insults and downplaying of others answers, I recommend that this thread be locked and you get a small break from the Nexus.

My meaning of life is to not only survive, but attempt the thrive and help others thrive as well. To learn about ourselves and our world through experience.

I resonate strongly with nen88's answer about collecting and organizing information also.

If that isn't a good enough answer, then instead of being condescending about it, just don't say anything and allow the thread to evolve naturally. When someone does chime up with the answer you're looking for, then feel free to give them some props.

Who cares what the meaning of life is anyway? It's not like we're gonna get out alive...
 
I used to think life was about searching and learning. Once you've found, you have something new to search for, and once you've learnt, you have new knowledge to gain.

After giving this some thought, I came to a definitive conclusion. Life is about chocolate, and the first cuppa of the day.

I have to agree with those people who said you are being disrespectful. I do not act like i know what the meaning of life is or the purpose. Matter of fact, no one in here knows the one set answer to what life means because, THERE IS NO ONE SET MEANING OF LIFE. There cannot be one answer to the meaning of life. THERE WILL NEVER BE THE ONE TRUE ANSWER. Truth be told, i am no offended by what you said just a little saddened that you are on this beautiful respectful site and cannot accept others views when you posted it. I think the real answer and point of this thread is for you to have someone tell you the answer you are looking for. You disregarded my response and a couple other peoples responses. If you want to hear the meaning of life in the terms you wish to hear them in then do this. Go to your closes mirror, look into your eyes, and ask the question. Once you ask it look away for a second look back into your eyes and answer. There you go you found your answer.
 
you asked: "what is life about?" my answer would be simply living, enjoying the gift of life that has been given to us all.

maybe you're looking for an answer to a different question
 
Someone sent me this earlier and I thought it was appropriate for this thread.

Your life is given to you. No one makes your life what it is. You make the decisions to make or take you where you're at. Its your choice where you end up or what you become. Don't blame your faults on anyone, in the end you made that choice to be screwed up or adapted and overcame the obstacles. You can prey to God, but you're the person who is held accountable for those decisions.

The meaning of life everything and nothing.
 
When you say life do you mean this human life?

Life may be eternal and maybe we are just on holiday from our usual realm we live in?

I think the meaning of life is probably survival. Life is like bacteria that spreads and multiplies and evolves to survive.

I wouldn't look too deep into it, we simply are....
