What scale do you use?

Migrated topic.

SWIM is almost done with preparations to perform his first extraction( -many thanks to this forum). SWIM has realized a good-quality scale is the biggest (and possibly most important) investment of this process and is wondering if anyone has recommendations before he blows 200 on one.

I purchased one through an online seller. There are many uses for a milligram scale, I highly doubt you would get flagged for buying one, unless the US are becoming an orwellian nightmare, and even then...

I just would steer clear of cheap chinese ebay scales. Chinese imported gadgets can be affordable and generally they will work, but such a precision instrument can be rendered useless by simple transportation hazards unless it's very well wrapped, and also customs might bug you for extra money... the price difference I saw here was small, around 19 euros for a chinese scale, shipping included, or 25 for a scale purchased from a local online seller.

I doubt you can find anyone who received a warrant after buying a precision scale.

It's all good, just gotta make sure you look hard before posting. I've posted questions that have already been answered before it happens.

The one many nexus members have, including me is here. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0012TDNAM

I can vouch for it. If you get that one I would also suggest getting some milligram scoops. They help in transporting it onto the scale and so on. This scale hasn't let me down yet and it looks like its been marked down to $20! Yay

I too am looking for a good mg scale to purchase before I embark on my first DMT journey.
My usual supplier has a few cheap ones, but one of them has a bunch of bad reviews, and the other I can't find any reliable info on. I'm holding off for what seems to be a trustworthy piece of kit: the Gemini-20. I don't think I would go on a journey before having a measurement that is at least 2-3mg accurate. I have no prior experience with such small dosages, and eyeballing my first dose just seems like a bad decision..

Yep, that's the one I have too. Cost only a little over £10 and so far shows no signs of breaking or anything. Great little set of scales.

I'm thinking about getting the gemini-20 too. I currently have the aws-100 and am not too impressed with it. It claims to measure down to 0.01 (10 mg), but it usually will not read anything below 40 or 50mg, and the few times it has I didn't trust it. On the upside it weighs up to 100g; I have used it to weigh mhrb.

AWS-gemini is a great, sturdy scale. I've actually punished mine a few times, dropping it from maybe 5 feet. Still works. Batteries will last around 6 months (at least the ones they give you), after which it gets really jumpy... which I WAY under weighed some changa on before which was a wild day!

Does anyone know a place that has discreet shipping, or does the one from amazon have discreet shipping, most of the time i buy from amazon it always says what's in the box on the outside? I live in an apartment complex and most of the time the boxes are put in the office area if there's not enough room in the mail box.

I can't remember if it said what was in the box or not. I also had ordered some milligram scoops that came inside so I'm not sure. You know people use these scales for weighing supplements. You weigh some nutrients and capsulized them. You could tell your apartment office your expecting your supplement scale for working out or replacing lost nutrients. Something along those lines

Ok thanks, yea it's none of their business anyways but i should probably say something if they ask, so hopefully they won't but good advice.

I know it has been said a lot. But i didnt find much review on better scales. i am looking to spend under $500US, less if better of course but i want accurate milligram, or better, readings. i am looking at these now.

Anyone have preference or other suggestions?

I strictly just need milligram and up to at least 10 grams, everything is just a bonus but not needed if there is a cheaper alternative that is still very precise.

Appreciate any help :)

The American Weigh Gemini AWG-20 works decently well, seemingly within +/- 3mg and only costs about $20 on amazon. Its also what smokerx's posted a link to on ebay.

You have to realize at 1mg tiny fluctuations in the air pressure, surface level, surface vibrations anything can really throw you off drastically. At some point volumetric measurements are really the only good way to go with precision.
