What wattage value in Power mode when vaping DMT with Aegis Solo + Digiflavor Mesh Pro?

I have a Geek Vape Aegis Solo 100W (the original version, not the Aegis Solo 2 or 3) with a Digiflavor Mesh Pro RDA, and I'm using Vandy Vape SS316L Mesh Wire 200.

I use this device exclusively to vape DMT, nothing else.

So far I always used my Aegis Solo in Temperature Control Stainless Steel (TC-SS) mode and set the temp to 200 ºC (or 392 ºF) but I understood nowadays people prefer fixed power (watt) mode.

Two questions:

1. When putting it in Power mode, what would be the optimum wattage? I see quite a wide range of suggestions from various people, some say 12-14 Watt, others say up to 40 Watt.

2. Do I need to reset or re-measure or calibrate the mesh? If it asks 'new coil?' I typically say yes. I'm not sure if I can or should finetune e.g. the Coil or Volt values? (never even considered this in TC mode)

Thanks in advance, much appreciated 🙏

Power mode became the general recommendation because most mods lacked a reliable TC and many were using Chinese knock off rda's which often had their own problems. One advantage of power mode is that you can control vapor temperature by adjusting the toke rate on the fly. 17 Watts is often recommended to start with but adjust as necessary.
If your TC is accurate and consistent and produces nice vapor then I don't see why you wouldn't stick with it.

Thanks. I'm actually not sure how (in)accurate my TC is. I'm not using cheap Chinese knock offs, I have a genuine Geek Vape Aegis Solo mod + Digiflavor RDA. My experiences with vaping DMT are quite OK although not extremely consistent. But I could also attribute that to several other factors. I've experienced with temperature settings ranging from 170 to 210 ºC (i.e. approximately 338 to 410 ºF) but haven't been able to pinpoint the absolute sweet spot.

What do you mean by adjusting the toke rate? The way I vape with TC is I start breathing in (gently, not violently sucking), then push the button and keep it pushed for 10 sec while continuing to breathe in steadily. Then I release the button, hold my breath 20-30 sec and gently breathe out. With Power mode, do you use multiple short tokes instead of one long push? Or do you mean increasing the wattage?

I would assume that if you are vaporizing the entire dose in 10sec or less and the vapor is a comfortable temperature and generally benign then TC is working. I used an original solo with knock off mesh pro's and could never get TC to work at all much less consistently.
In power mode by increasing or decreasing the rate of your inhalation you can adjust the vapor temp by changing the airflow over the mesh. this is something that has been reported by others, not something I've tried myself, I preferred a constant toke rate.
