whats the UK equivalent of VM&P Naptha?

I heard somone say ronsinol ligher fluid, but That doesnt' exist...

whats the best solvent to use if one is in the UK?

SWIM want to do this propperly. the solvent SWIM have just doesn't seem to be shifting at all,
(Asda own brand white spirit, and B&Q Own brand white spirit/turpentine substitute (naptha)
and I had it on the fans for a good 2 weeks solid now, plus a couple days/4 hours a day
on 60*C water bath with extreme fanning, full power.

:(

all that is there is about an inch of solvent which is sorta dark yellow, looks to be
a good pull if it would just fucking SHIFT.

also anyone knows what the best solvent to use is , in the UK?

swim used to think swim knew what I was doing, but I think swim may have encountered
dmt n-oxide does this seem likely if swims stock has been sitting in NaOH ph 13 for like
5 - 6 months?

newport lighter fluid. though i've had trouble getting it recently.

use that. evaps under a small fan in no time (literally a few hours), and doesn't smell nearly as bad as those white spirits your using.

if you can't find newport then use perma fluid - just type "perma fluid" into ebay and bobs your uncle.

B&Q sells naptha branded as "Bartoline Premium Low Odour White Spirit". 2L will cost you £4. For the same cost you'll be buying Zippo lighter fluid in 1 or 2 125ml cans at a time - and the store will have you down as a gashead and a troublemaker.

I found this Bartoline stuff during a most innocent reconaissance to B&Q looking for nails. I have been very impressed with the results.

swim has seen this bartoline spirit in b&q,does it really evaporate without leaving a residue........swim has used perma,zippo,ronsonal,and swan and swim found that all of those types leaves a residue and is therfor no use for evaporations.

guys.... SWIM Would like to point out that even if it was some sort of degraded, low-yeild pull,

*THE SOLVENT WOULD STILL EVAPORATE WITHIN A WEEK OR SO*

TBQFH swim's evapped this stuff before, atleast 15 - 20 times, and it WORKS, and it evaporates.
Its the same stuff, NO changes whatsoever. so even if there wasn't ANYTHING inside (but there
is, because its QUITE dark yellow. (not outside the norm though) then it would still evaporate
down at some kind of reasonable rate.

Look y'all, I am sorry for swim's frustration, and swim informs me that there is more mimosa
on the way! (YAY!) but this just doesn't stack up, whatsoever. thats been niegh on a 3 weeks
and a few days, almost a month. Constant fanning, constant evapping, periodic heating to
60*C with fanning obv.

swims mate swim2 who is swiming somewhere in amsterdam at the moment knows a cheaper supply for naptha in the uk.swim will ask swim 2 to post his link when he returns.

thats good to know isambard,and does this stuff evaporate clean without any residue or does swims uncle only use it for freezing......btw this thread will be a life savor for us uk extractors.

lemmy ... no residue to speak of once evaporated ... just dmt, he says. using a stainless steel tray that's quite reflective, any residue wld be noticeable. he says there's none.

Haven't seen this thread before or I'd've answered sooner. Windsor & Newtons artists white spirit, available on-line or at art shops is 100% naphta, at least according to the label. If the Bartoline stuff from B&Q works though I'd continue using it as it would be cheaper than the artists white spirit.

Looking at the picture now I've seen this stuff before but discounted it without trying as I think the 'ingredients' included a lot of stuff that wasn't naphta. What all's in it out of interest?

mostly other aliphatic hydrocarbons. Its basically just not such a neat cut.but since any nonpolar solvent will work, it only affects evaporation times. It'll all leave eventually... i mean, unless its like... c20h42
