Why do we like plants...

Hello, friend...

I was tending to garden as one do.

And thought.

Why do I like planting things. There is quite a few plants I have grown from seed and I plan on doing much more in the future.

My theory is, not only that watching things grow is satisfying but also has other properties.

In my case I think it is the act of slow improvements. I have been always "gifted" and as a result I have suffered. I did not have to study at young age and still had flawless results. This made and unfortunate situation where I could finish work others needed few months to learn, in just a day or two. Therefore I have not learned to work everyday and expected everything to have immediate results. While still listening to how gifted I am. With this came "I should get amazing stuff in life because I am so gifted" syndrome. Where no one told me and I could not figure out that "I need to show up everyday". This situation created mess that I untangled just recently.

Planting and watching things grow seems to be my reminder on subconscious level that things take time.

Things take so much time to start to finish, and process is often times bleak. The tree does not grow in a day just because a seed is gifted, it still takes years.

So, do me a favor. Show up...

i have always had a problem with slowing down. i lived most of my life rushing around and never taking a moment to breathe. plants help me in a similar way.
these days i love to meditate in my garden surrounded by the many plants i have patiently grown ❤️
