Why is DMT so rare in comparison to other psychedelics?

Yes, I mentioned both in my previous post, the supply chain/market and also (to me, above all) the specific effects of DMT, which I don't find that much suitable or enjoyable in festival/parties context
Yes, I agree with the rest, I just don't think the supply side is a main factor here, that's all.

I guess those who definitely fall in love with DMT will in a way or another find the path to extract it themself, while LSD lovers still will need to rely on brave and experienced chemists and buy it on the market.
I agree with this. Although as for any other psychedelic, most doses are going to be taken by people who are just curious to try it or use it in a casual and infrequent manner, as people who decide to use psychedelics in a more serious manner are a minority. That probably explains why those vapes seem to be commercially successful despite their many drawbacks.

I think people want to extract it themselves to control it. It's so straightforward to do it. And it's much less expensive than getting it from somebody.

It’s much more environmentally friendly to have local larger scale synth going on in reality…vs shipping bark on airplanes all over the planet while dealing with customs etc.

My hope is that extracting outside of local sustainable plants becomes an old past time and we just have legal access to pure ethical DMT as adults.

Yes, if there are quality and purity guarantees then I agree it would generally be better (unless one were to grow the plants). But that's most often not the case.

We don’t have quality or purity guarantee with mimosa either though. I know it’s not the same but people do extract stuff that seems questionable at times and no one can even say for sure which species of mimosa they really have. Generally I agree we aren’t at the stage where people are going to be transparent about everything so extraction is probly the best route but I hope things change.
