Worried about oxidization

I couldn't find much pertaining to oxidization and was wondering how long it took dmt freebase to become oxidized. I can't help but think that evaporating is only speeding this process up. How does one know when their spice has become oxidized?

Source material may already hold oxidised spice, which may be extracted with the rest of your goodies.

You can minimise oxidisation in extraction by freeze precipating rather than evaporating the goodies. If you have already started evaporation minimise temperature and airflow.

As far as I understand n-oxide appears as a golden oil which won’t crystalise, but will harden with time. You can go some way to separate spice/oxidised spice with recrystallisation.

N-oxide doesn’t seem to be quite as soluble in naptha as non-oxidised spice. Redissolve your product in naptha in a warm water bath, don’t agitate once oily layer at bottom can be seen. Once clean spice has dissolved it will leave golden oily stuff at the bottom. Decant solvent, freeze precipate. repeat if necessary.

just one thing, AFAIK n-oxide is not at all soluble in naphtha (but maaaaaaybe its a bit soluble in hot naphta)

two more things: n-oxide is not necessarily a bad thing, it is also active, some people even like the effects it has more than pure dmt, while others think its worse (but IMO there is no real difference in effects and its mostly self-suggestion... this is all debatable though, until double blind tests are done). The only real disadvantage of it, IMO, is that its an oil, so its harder to manage/store it, but you could just redissolve in alcohol and evap in some herbs.

another thing is that n-oxide can be turned back into dmt using zinc dust. if you want to know more, search around for this here in the forum, or if you cant find we'll help

My reason for thinking it may be soluble in naptha is that recently instead of leaving golden oil to sit at the bottom of the vessel I stirred it and the oil went in within a couple of minutes. Water bath was improvised from a bowl and water from a just-boiled kettle so naptha was pretty hot.

I ended up removing the oil in collection by scraping if from around the crystals. I usually throw it away in the re-x stage but collected and left it to harden. I have tested the resulting golden rocks twice over the last week and am now starting to wish I had more! A bit gutted to think how much of this I have thrown away over time.

don't worry too much about dmt oxidizing. unlike with psilocin, it won't lose activity

Great info thanks all, I was just worried that a batch of my spice, being more on the waxy side, and not fully dry, has bee oxidized from too much evaporation. I'll stick to freeze precipitation henceforth. Thanks again!
