xylene help

Greetings !! As I have been researching a lot on xylene I have seen a lot of people saying it has a really strong odor, if so how so how strong would the smell be compared to shellite? I am a pretty anxious guy especially on my health and the most important question is how bad would it be affecting me just by smelling it, I would be doing the whole evap outside, would it be pretty toxic even if it's outside? xylene is one of the major component for paint thinner. it's transparent
so If you have ever made industrial painting, you can have a good idea of what is the smell of xylene.
I use it for having full spectrum spice, a bit long to evaporate but results are great.
... and goo spice is really colorful :roll:
