Yellow oil

What is the yellow oil/goo that makes into the the extract? I thought that it was plant fats left behind during A/B extraction but I still get some even after defatting during A/B extractions. It looks great until it's time to scrape. I've noticed a higher concentration of this stuff when the DMT saturated solvent is evaporated instead of letting it freeze precipitate. I've also noticed when there's less of this yellow stuff, the new sneaker smell becomes very faint. So, what is it?

This is A/B that was defatted and washed with Sodium Carbonate.

It is DMT oiling out instead of crystallising nicely. You can separate this by decanting it into another recrystallisation dish when it precips out (it oils out early)

It is more dense than white DMT crystals and is pretty nice to use. Don't throw it out :)

Additionally I am currently stuck with a big load of this ugly oil and normally just threw it into Acetone to evaporate on herbs for Changa.

But now just tried something different by putting in a little crystal seed and leaving it in the freezer.

The DMT will slowly crystallize while getting lighter in color, so you can really observe when you have 100 % crystallization if there is no brown stuff anymore, but only light tan - regardless of the actual shape of the mass. Then you can easily handle it even when unfrozen :thumb_up:
