You are assuming a unique divinity for Jesus. He was no more the son of god than I am, or you are. Did he better understand the nature of existence? I would say that he most certainly did, but that does not make him "uniquely" divine. His divinity was a major point of contention at the Council of Nycea, and if I remember correctly the vote taken was quite close, 300+ years after he died.
He was a man, a very special man, but not a god, and certainly not the "only" son of god. Each and every one of us is a son/daughter of god, we are all divine.
