Yet to breakthrough, would this idea work?

Hey everyone, my first post as a Nexus member! I'm short on time (but I'll be back later!) so I won't go in to much detail. I first tried DMT about two months ago. I was instantly amazed at the potential, and yet I have not had a breakthrough trip even though I have tried. I tried the machine and the sandwich method in bubbler, both got me somewhere but I never left the "nether". I was thinking would a cheapo glass marijuana pipe work? I'm thinking I would drop the crystal through the small hole and light it from underneath with a torch. I would try to get a hold of a ball pipe but that kind of thing is virtually non-existent in my area. Any other suggestions? I'm hopeful to dose tonight if possible. Thanks!

Doing something like what you suggested with the pipe and heating from underneath with a torch lighter is a bad idea. It is very easy to burn the spice with direct contact to the heat source, which will destroy the molecule and you will not get as good or strong of a hit as you are trying to achieve.

I would recommend that if you do not own a vaporizer of any sort, to look into making some enhanced leaf. This can be smoked through the pipe like you would with weed, or better then through a bong. You just cant let the flame roast the bowl. You have to inhale and pull the flame into the bowl but keep it above the enhanced leaf to vaporize the DMT. After doing this you can then touch the flame to it briefly to make it ember up, and continue to smoke it this way until there is nothing left.

Taking as large of a hit as you can is key here. Take a big hit, hold it, and then keep doing this as quickly as possible until you have vaped/smoked the whole dose.

I appreciate the responses. Nice info graph, I will certainly try light meditation before I smoke. Enhanced leaf I will definitely look into this. Does it involve making a solution like I've seen around here?

Making enhanced leaf is a very simple procedure. Look into the changa subforum. It is as simple as dissolving in a solvent and evaporating said solvent onto leaf material.

I think you do not need to rush into a breakthrough, it will come in time when you perfect smoking technique. I think two skills are important: vaping and holding. You need to take the vapous deep into your lungs and hold them for a while. Exhaling deep before toking the spice pipe is also important. Good vaping requires finding the sweet spot between adding heat to the vaporization device and removing I by pulling air past the near-boiling spice, pulling it along. Too much heat and the spice burns, too little and your lungs are full with air before you get a good dose of spice in.

You can make enhanced leaf by dissolving freebase spice in alcohol and then soaking the leaf in the solution and letting the alcohol evaporate, leaving the leave infused with spice. You need only a little alcohol, so I would advise to get a small amount of medicinal alcohol, because that way you can be certain it is food grade and has no denaturant chemicals in it. Look at the changa subforum for more ideas and tips.

If you add harmala freebase to the enhanced leaf you have changa. One of the advantages of changa over enhanced leaf is that you have more time to gradually build up a dose.

I appreciate the feed back. I've dug around and I see recommendations for all sorts of herbs for changa or enhanced leaf, I don't see much regarding marijuana. Is it less desirable than other herbs or does it alter the experience in question. I think a pleasant indica would go hand in hand, but then my experience is limited.

Definitely alters the experience. From what I can tell, most people either love it or hate it. I know many members (myself included) never combine cannabis with DMT. Others rarely smoke DMT without cannabis. It all comes down to personal preference. I would recommend trying DMT a few times without cannabis first, so that you can compare the two if and when you decide to experiment with adding cannabis.

Interesting. I will give it a shot without bud now that I have a VG. I do know cannabis alters acid trips a little for me.
