Your favorite solvents . .

SWIM has just been using naptha for pulling (then freeze percip) and re x'ing so far. It has produced quality product but not the greatest yield.
Naptha is also damn expensive and stinks! :shock:

What are your preferred solvents for pulls/reX?

SWIM is already interested in hexane/heptane but would like some others opinions before rushing out to buy.

Also if you are in UK could you reccomend the supplier you get you preferred solvent from too

Pull with limonene, salt with fumaric acid (FASA or FASI), freebase/re-x with water and sodium carbonate

Hexane/Heptane are pretty much equivalent to naphtha

If you want bigger yields, you need to pull with something like limonene/xylene/toluene/DCM (though they wont work for freeze precip, you'll need to salt out and freebase afterwards.)

Yes, hexane and heptane are the non-methylated counterparts found in most naphta brands. You get better freeze precips because of the purity of the solvent.

My personal favorite solvent is water. I like to drink it.:d

For pulls, I'm fine with naptha. Heptane is less offensive to my nose and seems to pull okay, but maybe not as well as naptha. I just got some d-limonene, but haven't tried a fasa yet. It sure smells better than xylene though.
