[YOUTUBE] embedding improved

Hi all members,

With the new Who's the best band in the world, circa 2012? thread I saw that is was highly needed to change the code behind the Youtube embedding.


Now what has changed:

HTTPS!

Yes, we use HTTPS now for embedded Youtube videos as well! This means no more pesky security warnings for embedded Youtube videos.


NO MORE TRACKING COOCKIES

Tracking cookies for embedded Youtube videos are now disabled by default.


ALSO YOUTU.BE LINKS WORK NOW

Formerly url's with YOUTU.BE did not work, this has been fixed now.


So how do you embed youtube video's?

In the box where you create (or edit) your posts, you will see a [BB/] icon on the top right. Click this and choose the [YOUTUBE] tags, then place your youtube url in between the resulting tags and it will work.

Also if you are using the new version of AVG Antivirus...It blocks embedded items by default and wont show them - Unless - you click on the icon in the address bar of your browser (especially Chrome)

(although ^^^ maybe fixed with this new change)

This is awesome Trav, thank you so much. It's nice to be able to blow the video up full screen without actually having to go to YouTube now. We sure are lucky to have you.
