Zofran (odansetron) and Mescaline

Hello everyone,

I have seen a lot of discussion on the nexus regarding taking zofran with Mushrooms/Ayahuasca to negate nausea but very little discussion with respect to mescaline or cacti.

I’m curious if other members have tried it and what their experiences are?

Thanks

Chat gpt had the following input regarding the safety of combining them. Anyone know if this is a legitimate concern or it it’s just AI being overly cautious.

Serotonin System:
  • Ondansetron is a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist, meaning it blocks serotonin at the 5-HT3 receptors, which is why it is effective at preventing nausea and vomiting.
  • Mescaline primarily affects 5-HT2A receptors (and other serotonin receptors) but does not have a direct effect on the 5-HT3 receptors that ondansetron targets.
  • While the two drugs act on different serotonin receptors, combining them could create unpredictable effects, particularly if mescaline's influence on the broader serotonin system is altered.
