Congratulations intosamadhi, looking good! Yes, try to to get a surface area as large as possible, maybe on top of some dry (news)paper that can suck up some of the moisture.
Yeah of course you can always purify this later, if necessary. It's probably enough for years of personal use!

Success! Finished the last bit of drying tonight. Got to use a friends iven for the last bit. The colour difference between air dried and oven dried is quite distinct. It's a craply oven so not sure what temp I had it on. Probably around 100ºC. Hope this doesn't mean I burnt it. Didn't smell anything burning. This shade looks similar to what I have gotten in the past from sun drying. You can see the difference in the pic below.
Haven't weighed it exactly because my scale only goes up to 100g and its over that. Will be interesting to see what the actual yield is if I try to clean up more.
Wasn't perfect but at least this experience has prepared me for what will happen with the next 4kg I am bringing back :d
