Migrated topic.
How exactly is the consumption of this stuff 'cleaning my pineal gland'? And how is calcium getting in there and what are the effects of this? Can you elaborate on this because it mainly sounds like a crappy marketing scheme to make tons of money out of people who'll believe anything they want.

It's involved in regulating calcifacation in glands.

When I look at the Chris Masterjohn's link he mentions this: protects against calcification of the arteries leading to heart disease. Can you explain to me how you jumped from arteries to pineal gland? Where is the logic in that? The documented link contains NO reference or background information about the pineal gland so I find it rather strange.

According to a seller (ROSITA ratfish liver oil) there haven't confirmed the presence of K2 in ratfish liver oil, the only suspect it. I wasn't able to find any data of google scholar about vitamin k2 content of the said fish.

It seems that ratfish isn't the same fish as skate.

Bottom line ? Get your K2, either from Vitacost or food but as for your claims, my findings were:

a) There is no proof that Vitamin K2 is present in ratfish oil
b) There are way cheaper sources of K2

Ash, if you agree with me then the following statement has no proof and is, like a1pha said, a snake oil stunt.
"Skate liver oil contains a compound recently discovered called Activator X (later found to be vitamin k2)".

As for other stuff, Luke published a paper on dead people, fluoride and pineal.
"By old age, the average pineal gland contains about the same amount of fluoride as teeth (300 mg F/kg)"

There was also some research done on effects of fluoride on bone density and thyroid function but they concluded the following "There was found only--not depending on fluoride concentration--an increased bone density in females that was interpreted as a physiological difference between males and females".

So from my point of view, skate oil is a fraud if/since the salesmen can't provide analysis the content analysis of K2-MK4. I believe K2-MK4 is beneficial for the body (research mentioned in the blog posts) but I'm not sure about the mechanism on thyroid decalcification nor I was able to find any direct research about K2 effect on thyroid but it sounds plausible.

Calcification and thyroid

Also vitamin K2 and D combo regulates this matter.

I make a post with references and you shoot me down like that.

Where is the love and holiday spirit ?

haha
I'm not shootin' you down, nor denying that this gland may be calcified. I'm skeptical of the conspiracy theories behind the phenomena, and the significance of the gland beyond the circadian rhythm functionality, given the documented globular protein characterizations from pineal gland isolates, i.e. known enzymes isolated from the gland.

*edit* this latest poster regarding the INMT expression in pineal tissues of macaque paints an
incomplete picture, because it was shown that the protein was not bound to the nuclear DNA responsible for its production. This could imply that the protein was produced elsewhere, then transported into the neural tissue..very mysterious

They used flouride as a rat poison before they put it in your water and that's no conspiracy

there is also a nano bacteria that is believed to cause calcification outside of fluoride. Nanobacterium sanguineum...
It might be possible to kill this thing if you can get past it's calcium shield, but it looks like a challenge that makes the ayahuasca diet look like a cakewalk in comparison.

"Animals that metabolize theobromine more slowly, such as dogs, can succumb to theobromine poisoning from as little as 50 grams of chocolate for a smaller dog and 400 grams for an average-sized dog" @ Wikipedia.

So if I do a play on your words,

Theres a lot of mixed info on the ld50 of fluoride, 50 to 100 mg per kilogram is a decent average so to say MUCH less would be needed to kill an animal. Its a by product of plastic, aluminium, uranium, and they actually used it commonly as rat poison, chocolate can actually be very healthy for humans and as far I'm concerned. I'm not talking about conspiracy, its just plain bad.

apparently for people who are not keen on eating parts of animals sauerkraut and generally fermented foods contain high amount of vit K2; see also dark green veggies contain vit K1 that can be converted by bacterias in the gut, so one word: eat your veggies and go heavy on fermenting!!

we all know fluoride is toxic to humans in the ammounts found in toothpaste and tap water etc.. The idea that this would need to be debated here is a joke.

I think it is certain types of sulphur found in some foods that can help get rid of the nano bacteria that cause calcification..or dissolve the calcium shells they surround themselves with anyway.

..er, fluoride is found in natural trace amounts in water in many parts of the world..shoot me down, but it does actually help strengthen teeth...

ps. it's the chlorine in water supplies that bothers me, personally..

i don't know anything about vitamin K2

but theres a lot of info on flouride and the pineal here ..they found it impacted its functioning in animals, i don't know of any human studies, although i haven't scoured that site thoroughly..

i also remember some study which found that in towns with a higher concentration of flouride in the water the kids tended to have much lower IQ's than those who lived in towns with lower amounts of flouride, and those with least amount of flouride had the highest IQ's, iirc. I cant find the link atm

Also- one from the site i linked says the pineal has the highest calcium concentration in the body. i didn't know this?:
"It is remarkable that the pineal gland has never been analysed separately for F because it has several features which suggest that it could accumulate F. It has the highest calcium concentration of any normal soft tissue in the body because it calcifies physiologically in the form of hydroxyapatite (HA). It has a high metabolic activity coupled with a very profuse blood supply: two factors favouring the deposition of F in mineralizing tissues. The fact that the pineal is outside the blood-brain barrier suggests that pineal HA could sequester F from the bloodstream if it has the same strong affinity for F as HA in the other mineralizing tissues. The intensity of the toxic effects of most drugs depends upon their concentration at the site of action. The mineralizing tissues (bone and teeth) accumulate high concentrations of F and are the first to show toxic reactions to F. Hence, their reactions to F have been especially well studied. If F accumulates in the pineal gland, then this points to a gap in our knowledge about whether or not F affects pineal physiology. It was the lack of knowledge in this area that prompted my study."
