A few questions before I write my intro essay

Hello Nexus folk, it's a pleasure to be here. I'm not a new reader, just a new member.

Before I write my introductory essay, I have a couple quick questions.

Firstly, can someone please explain this quote from the Attitude page?

No discussion is allowed about synthesis of illegal substances, since it requires highly dangerous and watched chemicals.

Am I correct in assuming that extraction (versus synthesis) is still a valid topic of conversation here? (I know this question seems daft; I have personally read many threads here that discuss extraction, but I want to be absolutely sure I'm not breaking any rules.)

My next question is truly daft, but forgive me. I am new to this kind of community.

I see many people who refer to SWIM. Many others refer directly to themselves. Please elaborate. ;-) (And yes, I have read the wiki entry about SWIM; I simply wish to understand people's views about its use.)

All discussions of extraction from any entheogens are allowed. If you look around the forums, you will see that such discussions take place all the time. Discussions of any synthesizes are not allowed, except for the ones with a very easy kitchen style like the theorized LSA to LSH conversion.

Some people choose to use SWIM, some choose to not. Personally I see no point in using it, but some people believe that it is safer to use SWIM than "I". It is about self-incrimination, by saying someone else did it, it is thought that it will not hold as evidence in a court. This will of course vary with your local laws.
