A Great Coffee Filter Filtration Technique w/ pics

Migrated topic.

Hey there!

This girl I know has this kitty who has extracted DMT more then a couple of times and has seen some others use a plain conical coffee filter to filter out their freeze precipitated DMT.

Here is a GREAT way to filter DMT through a coffee filter that is easy, provides MUCH more flow (to reduce the amount that re-dissolves into solvent as it warms up) and also makes getting that pesky spice off the filter as easy as invert-and-go!

The kitty wanted me to share her small technique in hopes it may help some beginners learn an easier method for filtration and avoid some minor frustrations that all amateurs endure.

So the idea is to increase the surface area of the filter you are pouring through?

Yes. This helps it from getting so clogged and impeding flow; something that often happens in cone filters.

Since the flat filter is secure in the strainer it can actually hold quite a bit of solvent, as much as a cone filter, but the flow of solvent is significantly increased and is a steady stream that goes through very fast.

If set it on a paper towel it is usually dry within 10 minutes.

After it's dry all you have to do is flip it inside out over a plate then move the filter around to get off big DMT cake pieces which are easily broken up into powder\crystals.
