A Long Overdue Introduction

It's going on six years that I have read through this forum. This community has provided me with an invaluable source of knowledge through my journeys. There is a wide array of people contributing to the community coming from all walks of life. I've never posted or contributed to the discussion, but I have spent an inordinate amount of time learning here.

My journey has been long, hard, but absolutely rewarding. I spent many years not confident and dissatisfied with who I was. It led me to try and fix my problems by masking them, and consequently spent a good number of years in addiction. It's a path that leads to degradation of the mind, body, and soul. Eventually I came to a decisive point where I knew I had to change or risk losing this gift of life. When I was 17 I tried mushrooms, and it redefined the world around me. It opened my eyes to the beauty of the world, and it primed me for my future route into a normal life.

Psychedelics, especially mescaline, gave me a way to look at my problems and see them from an outside perspective. They have been a tool to see the things I cant, and consequently change the things out of alignment in my life. I have become a confident and much happier person due to my experiences.

The severe hardships I have suffered have only helped me grow as a person. I have seen the darkest depths, and can empathize with a hurting soul.
Psychedelics aren't a shortcut for me, but they have been an absolutely invaluable tool of change. I would not be who I am today without them.

Compared to other psychedelics, such as mescaline or P. Cubensis, I am relatively new to DMT. I've broken through maybe ten times, and spent 40 or so sessions out in nature with a friend. The utter beauty of the experience has been overwhelming. It consistently takes me to a place and experience so far removed from myself that it leaves me in awe. I've worked with syrian rue and B. Caapi, and I believe I will find that working with DMT containing plants and Caapi is the most beneficial route for me. DMT alone rockets me out there, but there isn't a defining thread that links it together. I feel like Caapi will provide the guiding hand I need to work with these sacraments in a beneficial way.

Hopefully this wasn't too long. I have read through these forums for years and felt I should speak up. There are many wonderful people on this forum. As my life settles down and I can devote more time to this community, I hope to be able to contribute in the future here.

May the light always guide you in all you do.

(I'd like to change my username if possible. I made it six years ago, and it is time to change the identity)

Thanks for introducing yourself! It makes me really happy when psychedelics can really change ones life for the better. Sorry you had to go through all of what you went through, but I'm glad you've found some light.

Welcome!

I wouldn't trade any of my experiences good or bad. They have helped shape who I am today, and given me perspective I couldn't have gained otherwise. Thanks for the welcome!
