I think the FDA should do their job and ban cigarettes..
Tobacco is a HEALING plant..cigarettes are a poison.

I hate cigarettes. They are filled with discusting toxins..bleached paper..filters that deposit fiberglass into the lungs..

Real organic tobacco should be legal..and used properly for the medicine it is..cigarettes shold be gone.
 
Terribly sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he gets well.
As for me Im about 2 months free and am never going back. This was encouraging to tell you the least.

This is a point, FE, legalized cigarets are cut with loads of shits to help hooking up people, that is a really nasty way of using chemie...
Tobacco itself is not the problem.
 
thanks for the post aegle...just want to say that i think you are a beautiful person, from reading your posts i can tell you are a very sensitive person.
i did pass the message to my wife, i think about this often...cigarettes are just useless in my opinion.

I dislike cigarettes on so many levels, they smell, they cost a lot of money, the high sucks, they're extremely addicting and most of all they're very unhealthy.

Of my close friends almost all of them smoke, its sad to think that because of their stupid habit some of them might not get to live life to the fullest.

I don't however think that any drugs should be criminalized, including cigarettes.

You are too kind my friend, yip as a non-smoker i really battle being around smokers. Even more so now then ever after my dad had his heart attack and operation. Mushies are truly really special, they have such an immense ability to heal...For you to help your girlfriend to stop smoking is such a compassionate thing to do. I have felt the heart beat of our beautiful earth, swum through the ocean with my whale bothers and sisters (I was one of them once) during my mushie journeys. Mushies definitely hold a special and sacred place within my heart, I'm really moved that mushies have also touched you in a deep and profound way my friend. Indeed my father has grown and changed so much since the heart attack and operation its really a beautiful metamorphosis to witness...

Aegle - There is nothing I can say to ease the fright, pain, and acute realism of the experience you and your dad are going going through. I lost my dad a few years ago in a sudden and tragic incident related (indirectly) to improper use of legal, "symptom masking", addictive drugs, so on some level I can relate. I am glad that your dad is recovering, and I'm glad his perspective on life and health has changed for the better.

As hard as I'm sure it was to share, I'm glad you did decide to share. My deepest and most sincere healing energy goes out to both you and your dad.

It warms my heart greatly that my post was some sort of encouragement to you my friend, the one and only reason that i made this thread was to encourage and inspire others to make the change in their lives and stop smoking...Keep going strong, i know that you can keep it up.

I am very sorry to hear about your dad. The only advise I can give is to make sure you let him know how truly special he is to you and live your lives as though it could end tomorrow. My dad passed away 4 months ago to lung and throat cancer from a life of smoking. He was diagnosed and and told he had six months. He died a week later. I was very close to him and we constantly told each other how we felt. When he passed I felt so grateful that we had always voiced our love for each other and there were no words unsaid or emotions kept hidden. I dont know what your relationship to him is. You sound as though you love him very much. Make sure he knows that.
As for cigarettes being illegal I do not think that is the answer. Yes there are corporations making millions of dollars but the fact is people will smoke and if its illegal the criminals will be the ones making millions and bringing the extra violence etc that comes with criminal networks. At least people know what they are buying when legal. I think all drugs should be legal. Every weekend there are kids popping pills that have no idea of what they are actually taking. If these thing were legal people would know exactly what they are getting and far less people would die from poisoning or overdose.

Tell your dad good luck with his new life and freedom from cigarettes.

Things have changed a lot with my dad i can see that he takes life far more seriously and he appreciates everyday, i really love my dad a lot and i do let him know all the time how special he is to me and how grateful I am everyday to have him in my life. I'm really so deeply sorry for your loss my friend it cant be easy losing your dad... I hope that you have found some peace...

I agree with you that cigarettes should not be made illegal, I'm just horrified by the way our society has so many entheogens so tightly and heavily controlled. When it comes to seriously harmful and damaging substances like cigarettes and alcohol they aren't regulated at all and are made freely available... It would make far more sense if you were going to prohibit anything should it not rather be cigarettes and alcohol?

For what it's worth Aegle. Your avatar brings a ray of light into my life every time I see it.

I've tried to think of how to say this in a way that doesn't sound all creepy and stalker-ish, cuz it's not... But your avatar just pulls me in and surrounds me with an incredible sense of genuine warmth, love, passion, and beauty. I think I'm in love with her... :oops: She's very much as I see the soul of my wife during experiences of the higher fungi. Pure, warm, understanding, and true.

Sorry, not meant to derail your post, I just wanted to relate back to the "ray of light" bit, and let you know that even in this small way, you are sharing one.

I am pretty sure I know that picture from your avatar. Isnt it a picture of a fairy? If it is its funny because I saw that picture in a newspaper about 8 years ago. I cut it out and framed it for my girlfriend. Thanks also for your kind words. It was and is still hard but you know I didnt do it as hard as the rest of my family. Because of my experiences with entheogens I see the world differently. I am not religious in the classical sense but I know he is with the spirit of the earth. It is where he belongs.
