Swims buddy has had some bark sitting around for about a yr.( sitting in the dark, at room temp. but not air tight), and he finally had a chance to do an extraction......just a simple a/b w/ 2 defats.
After he basified and added naptha for the extraction.... he agitated as normal, then he sat it down (gallon pickle jar) and he turned around for 10 minutes and the layers had completely seperated.
That has NEVER happened to swims friend.... at minimum, it might take 30 - 45min to seperate, and that's w/ a hotbath.
Is this a bad sign, that the bark has oxidized to the point that there is really no goodies to extract?? or could he just be having a good day?
Realizing that the true test will be the precipitation,is this normal?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
