ACRB TEK 100g "PICS" (Newbie Friendly)

Doing this extract for the firtst time instead of the usual STB. GOotta try something new to grow in my knowledge. How cool should it be before doing the hot napthalene pulls?

Just finished most of this tek. Evapping some of the napthalene since I used more. I want to concentrate it some more before I do the next acid stage. Probably do it tomorrow.
 
Got around to reducing the volume of the naptha pulls. Went from approximately 450 ml to 150 ml. A warm day and fan did a very efficient job of ruducing the volume quickly. Next I got a quart canning jar and then put 500 ml of distilled H2O with 60 ml of vinegar. I added the naptha and swirled it for 30 minutes. The naptha remained yellow. I got all of the root dust out of the naptha before I reduced it. I guess that's why I have no brown layer. I am getting ready to siphon off the naptha layer.
 
Actually shaking it did cause an emulsion. The water mixed with the naptha forming a large layer of bubbles in the solvent. I only tried shaking on one pull. After the emulsion formed, I stopped shaking and went back to just rolling the solvent. I got some water in my pulls from the emulsion. The water and naptha eventually seperated. I was able to pour the naptha off the water. I finished my pulls and ended up with 350 ml of naptha. I'm letting it evap down in front of a fan till it is reduced in volume by about one half. Then into the freezer.8)

Yeah. I tie dyed a pair of jeans with bark soup but it all washed out. And before it did, it looked like i murdered something in those jeans...
 
Ye Gads! Lots of crystals and less than 12 hours. Probably 1 1/2 grams at least. Best ones ever. Pure white! Poured off Naptha and letting them dry. I'll probably reduce the poured off naptha and probably try crystallition again.

You mean naptha, e.g. Varnish Makers & Painters VM&P Naptha
Napthalene is a crystaline solid, for all intents and purposes the old chemical used to make moth balls until the chemical has been banned and replaced commercially because of toxicity
 
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

This is from my first 4 pulls on 100g powdered ACRB (using this tek as written) that I completed in the last week/month/year/whenever or so. Seems like there is never enough time for everything precious in life!

In some other universe where I always run out of time, I have 3 more pulls which I haven't had the chance to perform the cleanup steps on yet. Thanks, Cyb and EW, for without people like you, many of us would be lost!!!

0.853g from 4 pulls ... ... ... Crystals/and a bit of wax, looks really pretty when zoomed in on!

VM&P naphtha is known to evaporate cleanly without leaving a residue; standard lighter fluid may or may not do so. Hence its wise to do an evaporation test on whatever naphtha one chooses to use.

VM&P is also much cheaper. For the price of a small bottle of r brand lighter fluid you can get a qt of KS brand VM&P.
It is wherever painting supplies are located in stores and I find it's less expensive at a place like Fred Myer as opposed to a paint store.
VM&P stands for Varnish Makers and Painters, I think. It's paint stripper.

It can be normal to have clear pulls...cloudiness (or clouding when blown on or cooled) is an indication that the solvent is saturated with product/something.
To fully saturate a pull...mix longer/thoroughly and use warm solvent.
The only real way to see if the pull is loaded...is to freeze precipitate.

If everything is done without deviation the only variable left is the bark...Most likely very low in actives or some other variation of Acacia (Trunk Bark) or not Acacia Confusa in the first place.

Acacias are fickle and not always containing a high percentage (Weather/Time of harvest/Strain/Drought all have consequences)...MHRB is really the only consistent bark around (although hard to obtain nowadays)
 
I did a back to back over the past week of the Max Ion and EW ACRB Tek and without fail this comes out on top by a considerable margin. I know they are practically the same tek with extra steps. I yielded almost twice as much without doing any freeze thaws and doing the Acid/Base steps for 4 hours each as well as increasing the water volume in the acid and reducing it in the base. I've also been pulling while the base mix is around 40deg with room temp solvent.

May I make a suggestion, after step 3 of the cleanup, rather than discard the NP Solvent. Drop the solvent in a small glass dish and evaporate it under a fan as a quick step to make sure you've got all the goods. Twice i've pulled this aside and evaporated it only to find quite a bit of DMT still sitting in there. It may assist those that generally ask the "where did my DMT go in the mini A/B" and yield losses.

I've passed the solvent back through the Mini A/B again after evaporating and it's now evaporated cleanly, meaning its completely salted all of the alkaloids into the Mini A/B acid phase.

Recovered ~206mg from the second pass on the solvent clean from a 100g extraction.
